I'm looking for some inspiration here...

Currently painting the first of my Dark Eldar Raiders, 'topsides' are painted in a bronze effect, 'underside' is a dark brown to complement this.

What colour highlights would you suggest for undersides without using the bronze again? Don't want the underside to be too bright.

What colour and highlights have you painted your Raiders / Ravagers?

(by the way, the bronze look is consistent throughout the Kabal, looks good on figures, Reavers and Raiders)

Regards,

Ari

Would it be possible for you to upload a picture so we can see what you have so far? It would give us a better frame of reference.

Was trying not to post w-i-p photos, but have now added one each on the gallery...

All ideas welcome.

Well, if you want metallics, Tin Bits would work well since it has a brownish look to it. Or you could highlight in bronze and then wash it with devlan mud or badab black to darken it.

This might not be too helpful but it would look VERY cool if the underside was dark turquoise. My underside is blue, i am eventually gonna upgrade it to have a star scape.

Think I'll go with a mid-brown highlight with a Devlan Mud wash after, prefer to keep the gunmetal (Tin Bitz) for the engines area.

Star scape sounds interesting but I would have thought this would look better on the upper side without the obvious ribbing...?
Will look forward to seeing that - keep me posted please.

Nice to see some Dark Eldar players going for lighter, more delicate paint schemes - my feeling is that as they were the ultimate hedonists they would still have a natural preference for 'beauty' in all aspects of their lives. To me the 'dark' refers more to their soul rather than their colouring.
