Okay gents, I am in bit of a dilemma. A long time ago (3rd Edition?) I acquired a wonderfully modeled/painted urban IG army. The seller had made a custom army, if I remember correctly he modeled it to be a Precinct army of sorts. Anyway, the modeling of the army is great and well painted. The issue I am having is what to do with them? The army consists of two stormtroopers squads (mixed special weapons), SM scout Squad (Vets possibly?), 3 IG Priests (One with a Shotgun, other with a Plasma gun), a converted Tank using an APC as a base (Chimera?) and a Commissar with PF. Do I strip them? Do I try and add units to the army to make it "legal"? Do I try to sell the army? Do I just keep them the way they are and put them in a nice box until a later date?

My issue with stripping them is that it would ruin the great conversion/paint work done on some of the models. The problem I have with adding units is that I don't think I would be able to match the current urban scheme behind the army. Selling the army seems a bit difficult due to the fact that the army as-is is not legal. I may be able to sell it piecemeal, but I am unsure if someone would want a Mixed SW Stormtrooper squad, also I don't think I would get a reasonable value for the figures.

Anyway, I leave it up to you gents, if we can come to a consensus, I will adhere to that. If it requires some painting/modeling, it will be put on my queue (SW Add-ons, BA Overhaul, IG Build, IG Precinct fix).

Thank you in advance for any help/advice gents.

That said, you could always simply add it to an existing army or the like. It's an integral part of the IG fluff that many forces will be composed of troops from very different backgrounds. 2nd Edition C:IG had pictures of armies formed with a platoon each of Mordians, Cadians, Tallarn, etc.

Just fluff it as an amalgamated regiment formed from two very battle damaged units with different backgrounds. For the mixed weapons you could fix those up fairly easily by just modding a barrel from a desired weapon onto it and calling it good.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
