Crons and SoBs, mainly because Crons was what got me into the hobby in the first palce and I would really love to own an army that does not suck eggs half the time. SoBs because I like how they bridge the gap between SMs and Guard, best of both worlds really, and their theme is really strong. And because both are still 3rd ed.

All of them should be next.

I could care less about anything other than chaos. Give us dreadclaws and a flavorful codex, and maybe I'll pick up another army.

Necrons, followed by Sisters of Battle. I've played Necrons for 2 years, and even when I started the codex was 7 years old and not exactly competitive. They need an update more than any other army, if only for the fact that their every battle is an uphill struggle from the word go.

Sisters can still work at the moment, but the codex is still too old to be ignored. Both these armies need to be updated desperately, otherwise I can't seem them ever coming back.

Necrons, probably because they're one of the worst armies at the moment, so to incourage people to play them, bring them up to date a bit.

Well Tau are rumoured for a codex release in august which is great for me but personally i would like to see the Necrons have an upgrade, its been years since their last codex and maybe even a new model release to kick it off even though they are still a very dangerous force to be faced with...

Must... not... say... Black Templars!

Necrons, followed by Tau. They need it more than anyone else. For some reason I get this feeling that many CSM players are spoiled. It's the best pre-5th ed dex bar Orks yet it appearently "needs" an update more than anyone else. I get that the fluff isn't as good as it could be but come on!

Now that I think about it, it'd be just like Tzeentch to make Matt Ward write the new CSM codex!

Hopefully SoB counts as a "marine" dex for release, otherwise after Necrons we might see "BT > SoB > DA"

Witch Hunters need it, more than Necrons in my opinion. But I think that's going to be coming out soon. All of these need an update, really.

And of course, I want CSM .

Necrons don't cost 50 pounds per squad.

Guess the Imperial Guard needs it more than anyone else then. They don't come cheap you know...

I want Eldar, but I acknowledge that others deserve to come first. However, I also think that when it comes, Eldar deserve a full revamp, not just a 5th Ed wand waved at them just before 6th Ed arrives. I'd be prepared to wait for Eldar to be the first 'dex of 6th Ed if they got some quality out of it. The Forgeworld releases seem to suggest they will be done before 6th Ed arrives though.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Eldar might very well be the last of the 5th ed dexes, although hopefully they'll get the same treatment as the Orks did (where it's technically a 4th ed dex, but was released based on 5th ed rules).

And guard models individually dont cost 50 pound per squad. You still get the same price to model ratio, even if you need alot more models for your army. Imagine building your entire guard army as Vostroyans with no Catachan or Cadian alternative.

As much as I hate to say it but the Necrons desperatly need a new Codex, in my opinion before any other since its figure range is horrible, its codex is the most out of date, and even forge world has had a hard time coming out with new stuff for the metal men!
So they deserve to be the next in the que but I suspect the deserving is not what drives the decision , more the sales of said models and base popularity of the range, and there that may be the reason for the incredibly slow speed of their update.

After that Give the Tau some love, forge world has been very gracious with new units but the rules and mechanics of the Tau really need a overhaul....just not as much as the Necrons.

I don't even like them that much...but fair is fair

Necrons are so dated that literally every thing in the book has a model. There's zero need for conversions (although there are still a number of possible conversions).

That and the fact that a grand total of 1 unit can take upgrades that you can model...

All of them should be released, but here is my preferred order:

1. Daemonhunters (since the GK Codex is coming out in April)
2. Necrons
3. Witchhunters
4. Tau
5. Eldar

Though if I were in charge, I would have placed Necrons at the tp and Daemonhunters after Witchhunters.

I'm actually a little bit swayed by what people have said about SoB... To have an HQ and the 2 minimum Troops in model form costs ~£86... Perhaps they need it slightly more than Necrons, even though I play Necrons (Though SoB are my next army to start)

they may have been released more recently than the others, but they took the worst nerfing at the hands of 5th edition. the only problem I can see with necrons is the meager "list" of troops options.

I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for eldar, as long as the craftworlds got a new codex before GW released another overpowered SM codex.

Necrons, seriously they need it so bad it hurts.

At the 40K doubles I didn't see one team up of them. Had a good look around as well.

They just aren't viable in that kind of format at the moment, which is a real shame.

After them, Sisters of Battle, but only because Aurelia will have them, and it gives me an excuse to make a wych cult army based around the cult that tries to destroy shrine worlds.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the next CSM codex fast tracked after the release of Cron and SoB codex. At the very least, it would be cool if CSM got the same errata treatment as DA to sate CSM players until the next book.
