Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

Edit - have decided to end this thread, mainly as i have decided to drop my Eldar and concentrate on the Chaos army. Will redo one of these focused solely on my Chaos army, once a lot more of my Background is done, and my newer stuff is being painted.

Okay, a few headaches, great news which although awesome, heavily distracted me just at the time of this starting, I'm going to get it going again. However due to my often near ADD when it comes to gaming, painting etc, I have decided to pull everything into one big blog. So we have Information, Stories, modeling and some painting all around my three main 40K armies, thats Eldar, Orks and CSM. Plus anything else I might find myself working on.

I'll leave the rest of the first post as it is, and meet you down below for the continuing thread.

'Sisters'

The warning klaxon's echoed across the main hanger of the Indomitable Will, a MARs class Cruiser of the 301st fleet of the Ultima segmentum. Navel crew and servitors scampered away from the main doors as blast shook the vessel causing many to stumble or fall.
Above them Commander Valion's voice echoed on the comm, calling all defensive troopers to Hanger one, but engineers staggered backwards as a huge explosion tore the doors apart. Vacuum hissed as several bodies spiralled out of the hole, before a long sleek black ship punch through the newly created hole sealing it with a crunch of bone against metal.
'Enemy vessel has breached main doors, repel boarders'
The engineers ducked for cover as Storm troopers barrelled into the room, weapons hot and opening fire on the craft, pockmarks popped across the ships hull as the las weapon struck repeatedly against it.
'Take cover!' screamed the sergeant as a door displaced away from the hull and shrieking blades exploded in all directions. Guardsmen, Servitors and Engineers fell, clutching at severed limbs or the circular objects deeply embedded into their flesh.
With graceful agility and unnerving speed Eldar in black and yellow scarred armour dropped into the hanger their shuriken catapults eviscerating anyone who dared get to close. As the Storm troopers fell back a tall female spinning a long halberd like blade descended upon them. Her blows where swift and timed to perfection, not one of the Storm troopers made a second step as she cleaved through them.
An Engineer grasped at his pistol holster as she turned to face him, trying to lift it as she darted forward. The blade span in wide arc and he fell, his chest sliced open, his lungs and heart cut in two before he had the chance to squeeze the trigger.
Xiandris stared at the deceased monkeigh for a moment, before a thought activated the comm matrix in her helm.
"We are aboard Xiarena, the monkeigh have fallen, we are moving to objective"

Aboard the Isha's Grace, Xiarena acknowledged the comm, and looked out across the engagement before her, the Corsairs had caught the Imperial ship completely unawares. Three Shadow Cruisers had shattered their engines, while boarding craft had speared into the main hanger. As her craft closed in she spotted the power grid flutter and die aboard the Human vessel, its lights fluttering out not unlike the moonsong festival on Iyanden, it was almost pretty to watch.

"These worms will regret taking the Crystal of Neshalla, launch the boarding craft, my sister will require support."

She felt the slight shudder as the sleek black craft was ejected towards the human ship, gliding through space between the vessels before launching two pulse blasts that shattered the Imperial ships hull and allowed the craft to slice into her.

"My lady, incoming transmission from the High Admiral!"

Xiarena motioned toward the crystal relay at the heart of Isha's Grace bridge and watched as a familiar face appeared within the crystal. Prince Yriel of Iyanden looked calm as always, if a little cold, she had not seen him smile in too long.

"High Admiral"

"We are tracking communications Captain, three Imperial Cruisers are making their way to you with all the haste their ships can muster."

"We are already aboard, it will not take long to retrieve what is ours."

"Watch your back Xiarena, the Farseers of Iyanden are weary of this mission, they feel something is at work here that they cannot even see."

"We are prepared, ..father."

"As you should be, I raised you and your sister with all the distinctions of warfare I could muster, I trust both of you like no others within the Eldritch Raiders, but do not let arrogance be your downfall. Have the 'Rage of Khaine' watch your backs."

She paused at his tone, and then nodded slowly. Glancing to the comms officer, she motioned at him to relay the message.

"It is done father, we will be home soon."

Yriel turned away in the crystal and vanished, the surface fading to a near black. The spear made him less caring by the day she pondered as she stepped forward to the wraithbone rail. She gripped it tightly, looking out of the view port at the shattered monkeigh vessel. She was not sure why the Farseers where so concerned, even at top speed the other Human vessels where an hour away at least, this would take half that time.

"Webway portal opening three hundred metres on the port side of the Silver Spear!" barked one of the scanning officers. Xiarena looked up in alarm and two dark shapes emerged from the portal. She recognised them immediately.

"Dark Kin, all craft disengage Human target and destroy them!"

She felt the groan of wraithbone within Isha's Grace as they cut the boarding craft loose and ascended up above the Human vessel to gain an elevated firing position. With a curse she realised the Silver Spear was struggling to release the boarding craft her sister had rode into the Human ship, it was blocking Isha's Graces line of sight.
Several bright beams of red light slashed across the Silver Spears aft as the two Dark Eldar ships closed in, it's engines caught by a stray lance exploded and tore the vessel in half. Xiarena watched solemnly as the debris of the Silver Spear expanded outwards, both Dark Eldar craft appearing through it. One of the scan officers noted a small group of boarding craft descending from the hulls of the craft heading straight for the Human ship, but there was little they could do.
The Rage of Khaine opened fire as it flew ahead, already in a better firing position, its Pulsar lance cutting into one of the two ships with a massive explosion, only for the second Dark ship to shatter the Rage's main sail with a return shot.

"Xiandris, we have a situation out here, you are on your own for the moment, oh, you have Dark kin incoming!"

Within the Human vessel, Xiandris paused from the fire fight against the Naval Guard trying to defend the hold. 'Oh' she mused, so typical of her sister to understate the situation she thought with a sardonic smile under her mask before grimly returning to the battle. She would have to deal with the Humans quickly before the fallen brethren landed, this whole 'easy' retrieval had just become much more complicated.
All she could do know is hope her sister could defeat whatever brought them, otherwise, not even the cold comfort of a Wraithguard shell awaited their failure.

So I started a new army back in Jan this year, with Aurelia having a Dark Eldar force coming together, I wanted to try something different, and after turning down a couple of choices I decided to return to Eldar for the third time. There where three reasons for this.

Number one, I've always liked the army, It was one of the first armies I had back in the early nineties, probably 1990 itself, when I had a small Siam Hain force. This was sold when I briefly dropped out of the hobby in 96 for all of about eight months.
I had it a second time, back in the late nineties, but I could never get a colour scheme I liked together.

So this leads to number two, I want to test my painting ability, for just over twenty years I have got my painting to an acceptable standard, its tabletop, but for someone who's been painting for as long as I have, well that's pretty poor. Okay I admit painting is a struggle for me, but I have done some lovely stuff when I've really tried, so I'm using this army as a yardstick to improve my overall painting.

Number three, Aurelia has Dark Eldar, so the fluff part of me loves the potential animosity our two forces can put together. I'm going with Iyanden for a second time, and concentrating, initially at least on Yriel and the Eldritch Raiders. This means I have a craftworld who really can't afford for the Dark Eldar to be interfering with them, plus the Raiders are pretty uncompromising themselves, so will happily butcher their dark kin in battle.

The 40K doubles last weekend has kept me from starting on them, but now that is finished for another year, its time for me to get on with my Eldar.
This Painting Blog will hopefully inspire me to continue painting, and more importantly paint well, I'm not looking for a Golden Daemon standard, but something that would happily be a 6-8 on folks scoring scale, so above Tabletop which I rate 4-5 usually myself.

I like the fluff side of 40K, so expect the odd bit of fluff as the army goes along, I'm also hoping to put the odd battle report in here as well. Make it a thread worth coming back to and all that.

Okay so who are the Eldritch Raiders for those who may not of heard of them, well they go back to the Rogue Trader era, back when Eldar where all pretty much pirates, and Eldar figures even carried heavy weapons.
The Eldritch raiders where one of many groups, but they where one of the biggest, and their leader was the enigmatic Prince Yriel. For a long, long time he was one of my fave sleeper characters, only really mentioned in the fluff, then expanded with the beautiful 'Doom of the Eldar' Strategy game. So imagine my sheer delight when he got an actual Special Character slot with the last Eldar codex.

Here's a pic from one of the books at the time, to show where Eldar where going before Aspect warriors and the like where added.

Expanding on it a little bit, I have given him two daughters, mainly as I like to have female models in my army, another bonus of Eldar. After some pondering I have gone for Xiarena and Xiandris for names, which I'm pronouncing as 'Sh' even if that's not correct. For the moment they will be counts as Warlocks for two Storm Guardian Squads, giving the enhance power to represent the Eldritch Raiders superior fighting ability compared to normal Guardians.
However as the army grows they will probably end up having their own characters as Aurelia and I aren't overly bothered about making up the odd character, unit etc. if it enhances the game.

So to start I've collected up what I consider my starting force. Being Iyanden my long term goal is to have plenty of Wraithguard, but at current prices I'm planning on leaving them to one side, in the vain hope that we get a plastic box at some point in the future.

To start off I will be using the Eldritch Raiders as my core as noted above. So to represent them I picked up two battleforces, and two boxes of Wyches and a box of Kalabites. My idea was to mix, Wych, Kalabite and Guardian parts to represent the pirates of the Eldritch Raiders. I also wanted a fair few of them being female, so used as many of the female bodies as possible. I've really been happy with the results, it actually shocked me how well the Guardian parts mixed in with the Dark Eldar components, another sign of Jes' great design skills.
I have two units of 15 Storm Guardians, each with two fusion guns, led by a Warlock, each Warlock being a conversion to represent both of Yriel's daughters. The Armour is a dodge, while singing spears represent their enhanced combat ability, and Enhance gives the Storm Guardians a better CC ability as they are supposed to be pirates.

I also added a Wraithlord, as even though poisoned weapons in Aurelia's force will be eager to see him, it seemed just wrong not to have one of these beautiful models. He will be an actual Eldritch Raider Wraithlord as well, as based on the pic below.

Both War Walkers from the Battalion boxes are also joining the Raiders.

On top of this I have my only current Iyanden squad, well in Iyanden colours anyway, which is a six man squad of Rangers, I love these models, and it'll only be a matter of time till they get bumped to a ten man squad or I add a second squad of six to the force.

My current Aspect warriors contingent are two squads. A squad of ten Howling Banshees with a Wave Serpent, and a Squad of five Dark Reapers with a Wave Serpent. Whats that second squad all about I hear some folks cry, well its part of my overall plan for the army. I'm planning on theming a Wave Serpent and each Aspect it belongs to around a unique colour scheme.

For example in my head at the moment, my Banshees are going to be some shade of pink, black and purple, with a purple and pink Serpent with a Woman's face up one side. The Reapers will have some kind of reaper motif on their Serpent that will match up somewhere to their armour, and this will continue for all my Aspects that can have a Serpent.

I also have the remaining Guardians, a Farseer and five Warlocks and the Dire Avengers left to play with, all of these will be in more traditional colours for Iyanden, and if I'm honest I'm not sure the Dire Avengers will be joining the other aspects with the unique colour scheme front. I may just go down they are too close to the traditions of Iyanden, although I am still undecided.
Regardless all of the units I have just mentioned are not in the starting 1500pts of my army, and neither is one of the War Walkers, so they will be painted last.

Here are some of the figures I've put together so far, both Storm Guardian squads, the Wraithlord, and Yriel. The War Walkers, Banshees and their Wave Serpent are also done. I am planning on doing the Reapers and their serpent tonight, with the plan of undercoating them tomorrow.

This is probably going to be a long hard slog, I'm not the fastest painter, coupled with the fact I plan on really pushing myself with new techniques, so bear with me, I will update as often as possible though. Hopefully someone, somewhere will get some kind of enjoyment from it, even if its, man how bad is MDS at painting.

Should be good!
The idea behind it all sounds very well thoughtout and it will be nice to see a different type of Eldar list floating around the inter-webs.
Looking forward to seeing some progress with this one

Well I've got the Reapers Wave Serpent done, bright lances for heavy support. Sadly Reapers will have to be done tonight after work and tomorrow.

Although I am at work, so getting a vehicle in between odd jobs wasn't too bad.

Regardless I am off for the next five days from 10pm, going into town tomorrow to pick up any paints I need, and hopefully there will be a few updates as the week goes on.

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

See top Post, some brief extra info added to explain to new readers and those who where watching, okay you've read that?

Great, here we go.

So first off lets add the Reavers of Kharos to the Blog. It's a new name, partially as my original fluff was based around a Marine chapter Aurelia (my wife) had, but she has since decided to dump to focus on Dark Eldar and eventually SOB, and also because I'm a big fan of the Chaos Legions and wanted to incorparate them somehow into my army.

First my starting background for them. Very limited at the moment, it will be expanded upon.

Reavers of Kharos - Unified Forces of Chaos attacking the Sargaris Sector

Command

Daemon Prince Kharos the Wicked of the Deathdrake Brotherhood
Former Captain of the World Eaters 19th Legion, Master of the Deathdrake Brotherhood.

Deamon Prince Shalassi the Corrupted, Mistress of the Undying
Former Sister of the Ebon Thorn, Sister Superior

Daemon Prince Bhelgm Poxblood of the 22nd Death Guard Legion, the Undying.
Lt Commander of the Death Guard

Daemon Prince Vokos the Soul-Stalker, Sorceror of the Thousand Sons. Master of the Shroud.
Former Captain of the Thousand Sons, Exiled member of the Cabal.

Daemon Prince Lharis the Vile, Master of the Vile Brood.
Captain of the 7th Emperors Children Legion, the Vile Brood.

Chaos Lord Harrick Bloodrinker, Commander of the Sons of Kharos Renegades
Former Lt Commander of the World Eaters 19th Legion.

Deathdrake Brotherhood

Led by Kharos himself, the Deathdrake Brotherhood are the reniments of the 19th World Eater Legion. Discarding their markings, they have embraced the path Kharn set the Chapter upon, and follow their former Captain with a near bloodthirsty dedication that is quite terrifying to behold. Although Kharos still regards himself as a World Eater, and has worked for Angron directly on occasion since the break up of the Legion, the Deathdrake Brotherhood is his to command.
All members of the Brotherhood have to have to earn the Blacksword from Kharos by presenting him with one hundred skulls, and then defeating another worthy applicant in a combat to the death. The Brotherhood join in an orgy of bloood, and stain their helms black with the blood of the Bloodthirster Xhraulm who serves Kharos due to some unknown debt.

22nd Death Guard Legion 'The Undying'

Originally led by the Captain Dhradic Phox of the 22nd Death Guard Legion, the force known as the Undying almost fell apart after Lord Lharis the Vile slaughtered the Captain after an arguement on the dark moon Bhale, ascending to Daemonhood in the process. For a moment it seemed the Vile Brood and the Undying would tear the forces of the Reavers of Kharos apart. Kharos angered at such a distraction as they where assaulting Vhelar Prime, heading back to resolve the issue. Not wishing to loose a skilled commander in Lharis, he took Lharis' prize possession a Sister of Battle he kept as a pet and passed her to Bhelgm, promoting the Lt Commander to Leader of the Undying, while what remained of Dhradic was entombed into a Dreadnought and named Phox.
After Bhelgm punished the Sister for several days, infecting her with several devestating poxes and plauges, he was surprised to see she survived them all. It was quickly becoming apparent that Nurgle had blessed the young woman, and she had accepted his gifts, and after years of torture under Lharis had seized the chance for revenge. She became a common sight on the front line of the Undying forces, and as her skills at leadership surfacedleading to huge victories on Valanesh, the Dargoran Shipyards and the Moon fortress of Yemloth. Shalassi the Corrupted was fast stalking the path to Daemonhood. Impressed by her tactical knowledge, her vigor and strength in combat, Bhelgm eventually gave her command of the Undying with the defeat of the 5th White Scar Battle Company on Heldroth, a battle in which both he and Shalassi ascended to Daemonhood.
Through the death and destruction they have wrought on dozens of worlds a deeper understanding has formed between them, much to Lharis' disgust from afar, some kind of twisted lust or dark shadow of respect exists between them.

The Shroud

Lord Vokos, was a member of the Inner Circle of the Thousand Sons, a favoured Sorceror of Magnus the Red, and staunch ally of Ahriman. It would be this allegiance that would set him down the same dark path as Ahriman, and his exile from the Thousand Sons after he and the rest of the Cabal helped Ahriman cast the Rubric. Vokos spent many decades wandering the Chaos Realm within the Eye of Terror, he had once been a Captain of the Sons, and was able to collect a rag tag group of Sorcerors and rubric Marines to his cause over the decades, eventually taking the name The Shroud as he became a key advisor under the rising power that was Kharos the Wicked.
By the time they began their invasion into the Sargaris Sector, Vokos was on the verge of Daemonhood and within months he was leading a ritual to summon hundreds of Daemons to the surface of Targar, during which he ascended and gained a greater understanding of the Daemonkin.

7th Emperors Children Legion 'the Vile Brood'

The 7th Legion of the Emperors Children has been known as the Vile Brood, since Lharis took command after the death of their Captain Khoer during the Heresy. By that time Lharis was the second in command, and had totally found a dark devotion to the God Slaanesh. As the Traitors fell back towards the Eye of Terror, Lharis led the 7th over several worlds collecting slaves and exotic booty aboard their vast Crusiers. After spending many years enjoying such pleasure, Lharis grew bored and began leading raids into Imperial Space to collect more items for his own demented desires, and while on one of these trips he discovered a Shrine world. Blood streamed through the streets and spires of the world, and by the end of it, Hundreds of Imperial Citizens and Sisters of Battle where dragged aboard the Infinite Grace, Lharis' flagship. From this bounty, Lharis discovered a Sister Superior named Nyrel, who he spent many years breaking her to his will as some kind of subserviant pet. After the incident on the dark moon, Bhale, Lharis watched as his pet was handed to Bhelgm as punishment. Unwilling to face off as Kharos, he raged against his lower Commanders and caused much suffering in the pit of hsi throne room for many moons afterward. He watched with anger and revulsion as Nyrel transformed into Shalassi, and his burning desire is to destroy her as soon as he gets the chance.

Sons of Kharos - Renegades

This motley crew of Chaos Marines, traitors and Renegades have formed under the banner of powerful Daemon Prince Kharos the Wicked. Led by one of Kharos' trusted Lieutenants Harrick Bloodrinker, the force of Renegades serves as a proving ground for the Deathdrake Brotherhood, and the other Legions.

So far I have painted.

For the Deathdrake Brotherhood...

Xhraulm, the Bloodthirster

A Chosen Squad

Two Khorne Beserker Squads (although the one with the Rhino has vanished from the Gallery, so I'll retake the pic asap)

For the Undying...
Lord Hexxor, Chaos Lord and Officer under Bhelgm

Daedric Phox, now known only as Phox to the Legion.

A Chosen Terminator Squad

Two Plague Marine Squads

Currently painting the first Shroud Squad, A Sorceror Lord in Terminator armour, and am finishing the construction of Bhelgm, a Undying Land Raider and Undying Havok Squad. Expect pics of those tomorrow. Also I have just finished a Dread for the Shroud.

Zhoi'Shas

Expect more new pics tomorrow, and the set up of Grodgob's Lootas.

Hopefully folks will be still interested, and willing to let my original slip pass us by, apologies to those who checked in over the past few weeks and my lack luster preformance on the posting front. Regardless, expect regular updates from now on.

Cheers, MDS.

As the thread was started about Eldar, here's a wip in progress pic of the first unit I started painting. Thats the first coat, and a wash to set up the next stage of painting.

My Howling Banshees, ten women squad, with the Exarch twice with different options, plus the Grav Tank. All painting in a connecting theme. To make my Aspect Warriors interesting, and for my own odd sense of fun, I am basing each Aspect on a Super hero or heroine.

Cookie to the first person who spots the hero they are based on.

edit - Have Orks and more Chaos stuff to post, but due to auto appending posts and my desire to keep each of the three armies in seperate posts through out the thread, I am having to wait 24hrs for each post before I can add another. If anyone is watching and wants to see things appear quicker, a quick reply of some kind, nice work, or you suck MDS will allow me to get things up here at a much speeder rate.

I am of course happy to read any comments, opinions, ideas or related posts about my stuff, and will do my damned best to respond to any comments.

Cheers.

Your eldar army in the first post looks very interesting and well kitbashed. The chaos guys are nicely painted, if a little vanilla compared to your first post. The howling banshees are not really to my tastes as red and pink/purple dont look nice together imo.

The only famous comic character i can think of with those colours is Gambit btw.

Aye, if I'm honest I'm not expecting the Aspect Warriors to be to everyones tastes. It seems an odd way of painting them I'll freely admit, but its something to amuse me while playing.

Thanks for the comments, and will get some pics of the rest of my chaos in here shortly.

Okay here is some pics of the Chaos I have been working on the past few months. After shelving my Chaos for about nine months previously to that, Just Dave and his revamped Chaos Codex Fandex got me re-inspired for my army and over the past few months I've been adding to my army once again.

So first up my reinforcements for the Undying, Death Guard faction of my army. I have just finished Bhelgm, after folding like a pack of cards and picking up a fincast version of the Nurgle DP, added the Balrogs wings and planning to undercoat later on tonight.

My Death Guard havocs, all converted ready for an undercoat. Due to my background changes I'll be painting these different to the nurgle marines above, and in all likelyhood the ones I have done will require a repaint.

My Undying Land Raider, I've been using the Nurgle Termies I converted above so far, but eventually I am planning on a fully CC themed unit that will be based on the FW Nurgle terminators.

For the Emperors Children 'the Vile Brood' I am a little stuck, unwilling to buy the metal Noise Marines on offer, and still not happy with any conversion options I have thought up. I am stuck with no troops choices, so they are unable to be played as their own force. Probably why I haven't even given any thought for how I want the Daemon Prince Lharis to look. I do have a few units though, and they can flesh out any of the other forces.

First my Winged Sorceror conversion using Sanguinary Guard parts.

Plus his bodyguard of six Raptors.

Also a unit of Possessed. Some are partially painted as I got a possessed box to help make my Slaanesh Raptors and thought I might as well use up the spares.

I also have a unit of six Chosen, inspired by a fellow Dakkanaut (who I sadly can't remember of the top of my head,) using beastman parts. Mine aren't as nice as his, but I was happy with the results. They also have a Rhino, adorned with human skin.

Onto the Deathdrake Brotherhood. Not alot here. Kharos is under construction. Aurelia is making this for me, as a long term gift, but it requires a shed load of detail and green stuff work. The big blade you can see on one arm will eventually be a Dragonheaded punch dagger style weapon, while the hammer will be covered in Khorne themed runes etc and spikey. From the design sketches she did, he's going to look awesome, but I'm not expecting him before the end of this year.

Also his Raptor bodyguard. I just picked up another box of Bezerkers and a Possessed box today, so I can make the final two members. Due to the left over parts, and a bloodletter box I have kicking around, I will also be making up a eight man Deathdrake Possessed squad as well.

My Shroud Forces wip, the over riding theme here is they are robe wearers, even the rubric Marines they have in their service. Lord Sorceror Marul the Seer-eater.

Plus a squad of eight Thousand Sons.

Finally a heretics Squad, based on a unit in Just Daves fandex. Regardless of whatever happens to Chaos in the future, the general idea now is to add a Chaos Guard loyal force as well using the Guard book. However this is quite far away so i have had little thought on Regimental name etc.

Thanks to anyone who is taking a look and thoughts are always welcome, I will post my ork stuff asap, either after any replies, or after 24hrs have passed.

Cheers
MDS

Da Boyz

Grodgob's Loota's - Deathskull Warband.

Been working on this guys for about three years, taken them to two Official Doubles Tournies at Lenton, both times me and my mate took Orks. We finished slightly better on the second trip, but got Chosen of Khorne in our first. Both times where a lot of fun though.
The overall plan for this army is four 1500-2000pt forces. Deathskull Warlord and his elite guard. Deathskull Big Mek and his mek shop crew, Deathskull Warboss and the mainstay army that serves the Warlord, and Badmoon allies centred around a pirate theme.

Here's a army shot.

Also three closer shots where it is easier to make out what is what.

In this first you can see the Deathskull Kommandos with Snikrot up front, two trukk boy mobs behind, and in the distance the ard boyz, and Killcannon Battlewagon.

In this second pic, is my counts as Ghazghkull Warlord, his Battlewagon and his Nob squad including 'Druchii' female looted Dark Eldar conversion, which is what the thing in my sig with the imperial guard General is referencing. You can also see the Grots, Lootas, the Deff Dread Aurelia gave me for Christmass two years ago, my burna's sprayed black, another trukk mob and the Deff Koptas.

The final pic has my Warboss and the second Nob squad and their trukk, behind you can see the Stormboyz and a bit of the converted Warbuggy.

Here are some better pics of the Ork stuff that is painted, except the Warlord and his squad, which I'll try and get shoots of this coming week.

Plus a shot of Druchii, which was created and painted by Aurelia as a gift to me, for the 2011 Doubles Tournie in Feb.

Will get more pics in here asap, including some of the things I have been working on this week.

Cheers for looking.

Well although its mainly a 40K blog, I did note I would place anything wargaming related I am working on.

So here is a WIP of my Infinity models. My first batch, went for the Nomads as a force, as I liked the Morias and the overal background of the faction.

Have elected for a Grey/yellow camo style pattern for the troops of Corregidor, as yet no camo has reached them though, as its an early stage of their painting.
I will be doing pink, red and White for Bakunin forces, and red and black for the select few of Tunguska.

Eventual goal is to have small playable forces for all three ships, but I am likely to be tempted by another faction at some point as well.

Lovely variety if you don't like the Noise Marine models would the Sanguinary Guard make a good base for them?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I must admit It not something I considered. Seemed natural with the Raptors as I got good use of the wings.

I think my main issue is how to represent Sonic Blasters and Blastmasters, as I would be taking them in a Noise Marine squad.

I even considered trying to replicate the old Noise Marine via Guitars, but I am uncertain if my plastic card skills are good enough. It is something I am still considering mind.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thread is done, have decided to sell my Eldar, and will redo one of these solely based on my CSM army later in the year. Apologies to anyone interested in what I had planned, but I think this lesson has taught me once and for all, that Eldar and I, no longer mix on a painting front.
