Is it ok to use, say the space marine terminator captain as Belial or are you going to get funny looks anywhere outside of your bedroom if you don't use green stuff to do some conversions? I have no experience with green stuff or anything like that and don't really fancy doing conversions.

You can use whichever model you want - I think that, since there is no Belial model, the Terminator Captain is a good substitute. (Has a robe and a sword, after all)

However, good conversion work is actually rather simple, and doesn't have to be all greenstuff and plasticard (two things that I'm also useless with!)

For a convincing Belial, you could easily chop and replace one of his pauldrons with a DA version, or give him the Iron Halo-like attachment on top of his armour in the illustration from the DA book. Or just give him a bigger, more DA-esque sword to represent the Sword of Silence.

As far as I can tell the current special character rules work by you either having a model of the character, a converted mini that looks like the character, or a converted mini which is unique and has the characteristics of the character-ie with the Imperial Guard's Knight Commander Pask you could use either the mini, or say a characterful looking tank commander (like the ones from forgeworld) as him. If your wanting to use him regularry I'd do him up to look a bit more than just a terminator captain, ie say the special character has some unqiue exuiptment, model some items that could represent them-I don't know who Belial is, an apothcary or something, so say he has a magic cup of healing..ness in his profile, and the image has him with one, if you were to model your own unique character you could either give him a big ol' mug, purity seals and all, or say a medical type artifacts -a big prong like needle with a skull on the top and parchment sticking onto it...yeah... Make him look like more than just a terminator captain and give him a quirkier paint job, and he should work fine.=P

You can take plastic DA terminator bits from the veterans sprue and add them to the captain model easily enough.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

I used the Lysander model from Imp. Fists. I just cut away at the icons with my hobby knife and used a little bit of green stuff to fill in the gaps and whatnot. Check out my youtube vid for some insparation

Lysander was used for the "official" Beilal conversion as detailed here:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?categoryId=900004&pIndex=2&aId=3500006&multiPageMode=true&start=3

However I tend to use my own converted captain.

Note that the DA codex does use the Terminator Captain as an example, and since only Chaplains and Libarians can take Terminator Armor besides Beilal, it's safe to say that this character can be considered the "official" model for Beilal. As long as the equipment is correct, no one's gonna care.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.
