After spending points on a 1500pt army, I'm left with a few remaining and I am unsure what to do with them.

The Gist of the list is as follow;

Tyrant: Hive Commander, Old Adversary, Para and Scream

2x Tervigon; Catalyst, AG, TS, Sy Tals

2x 10 Termagants

5x Genestealers; AG, Broodlord, 1x Sy Tals

1x Venomthrope

2x Zoanthropes

2x Tyrgons; AG

After all of this I'm left with roughly 50pts. What would be best to get? 3 extra stealers, another 10 gants? Cut some more points and get a Zoanthrope (perhaps the stealer adrenals or a toxin sac from one tervigon?). What would give me the most bang for my buck (~50pts).

Personally I'd suggest Toxin Sacs on the 'stealers, rather than Glands. And maybe lose the Broodlord to just fill out the unit with a few more bugs.

Broods of Termagants likely aren't going to last long at all at 10 models; I'd say jump them up to 15 each with those 50 points. Not that 8 Genestealers would be a bad idea. But with 15 in a brood you'll be able to hold objectives more easily.
(assuming you have enough 'gants for this -and- enough for the Tervigons to spawn)

Unsure on the Venomthrope, but I've no experience with them.

As ever the aim is to kill tanks, not to get that re-roll to wound against infantry.

Okay, I think a minimum 5 squad of stealers may be sufficient then, with the aim to improve both gant squads to 15 models.

The Broodlords utility at str 6 cc (re-roll 1's) vs vehicles and Hypnotic stare means, I hope, he will be invaluable at turning some really scary threats into some pretty mediocre ones.

I would suggest dropping the thropes and replacing them with Hive guard. You should probably see if you can squeeze 2x2 Hive Guard in your list, they are beyond valuable.

4 of them would require the stealers to be removed (along with the zoans), as they are essentially the only variable. I don't mind so much about normal tanks, it's the monoliths, Leman Russes and Landraiders that I have trouble with.

Slogging Zoanthropes are not exactly a reliable form of Tank killing.

You have to march them across the field and then get them within range to be effect; this on a T4 body with a 3++ save that has to pass psyker tests for its ability.

Comparatively, you get Have Guards with T6 Toughness, two shots that can be taken from hidding on a respectable gun with better range along with 3+ armor (working the stats from memory here).

Unless you pod up the Zoanthropes, the delivery system of slogging Zoeys are gonna fall short versus taking Hive Guards.

I would take a spod for the zoeys. You already paid the points for Hive Commander and you really want the zoeys to be able to pop a tank before they get wasted so a spod would be a great addition.

Your Tyrant and Trygon both have a better chance of taking out those tanks, than 2 Zoans. Zoans relay much more on chance for their attacks to work, since you have to pass the Psy test, then roll to hit, then hopefully you get a good result on your pen. With the Trygon you have Fleet, rerollling all missed attacks, and 2d6 for MC. If you deal with a meched up opponent he will run circles around you without any Hive Guard.

I would Scrap the Venomthrope, 2 Zoeys, and use that extra 50 points you have left over, you should have enough for 4 hive guard. Use the Guants to screen the Hive Guard, and Hive GUard to screen the MC, and you'll have a mobile Cover save, that's better than what a Single Venomthrope can provide.

Sasori makes a good point, though ultimately it's your call. There are actually quite a few small changes you can make to your list and see how each one does.

I agree with everything besides dropping the Venomthrope; He just provides too much. Buut I shall look to acquiring a unit or two of Hive Guard. Thanks, you've convinced me.

P.s Thank you Mr.Mod
