If the username hasnt given it away already, im an ork player. And this is a potential army list. I'm planing on using the imfamous Killa Kan-spam tactic and have drawn up a loose list. Nine killa kans (with Grotzookas), 58 boyz, 2 nobs with powerclaws, and mek wih a KFF (kustom force field) which is about 920 points (extra wargear pending).

Otherthings
these are things i may or may not do, either way, i havent factored them in to the above army list
1. A possiable custom warboss unit (see seperate post)
2. a handful of mega-nobz
3. Enough trucks capable of carying the infantry in my army list

Hey Waaagh,

You'll probably have better luck if you break down your army list like;

HQ:

Elite:

Troop:

Fast Attack:

Heavy Support:

Little easier on the eyes. As to your army, here are my thoughts;

KFF/Mek is great in a BWagon for protection/large bubble aura

Killa Kans look good, although make sure you clarify how the KFF is going to work before your game to save discussions. Do a search for Killa Kan/KFF to see what I mean.

Branching out...

A second HQ Warboss with Nobz is always a good pick. Throw them in another BWagon next to your KFF and you have a pretty rock solid unit. Kit them out unique for wound allocation fun.

I don't believe Mega Nobz are worth it, just go regular Nobz.

I wouldn't bother with Trucks, just foot slog them.

My thoughts....

thanks, i was palning on having the mek out in front screening fire for the kans and the oher troops. Also, i thougt mega nobs would be great at harassing the enemy with their 2+ Armour save (Essentially Ork terminators) Your probbly right about the trukks; i was hoping of building an ork army with elite, high point units
^funny rite? either way, i was hoping not to have to swarm the enemy; however im not excluding the possibality

No problem. As I stated earlier, regarding the KFF and Killa Kans you might want to check out this thread;

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/348892.page

At the very least, make sure you and your opponent are clear on how it works before the game.

Mega Nobz are slooooww, not super killy, strike last, expensive, etc. I never fear Mega Nobz as once you blow up their BWagon and strand them (or feed them a unit)...you just move away and shoot low AP insta death weaponry at them. For their price, you can have two Nobz...and Nobz with mega armor/FNP are 'almost' as tough as a 2+ save.

You can run elite Ork armies I think...just two units of Nobz in two different BWagon units with a Big Mek giving 4+. That's just a tough nut to crack if they have individual wargear.

They're slow/purposeful, so 2d6 slow walking/assaulting

dang, thats misreably slow, what about if they were in a really fast transport w/ red paint job; they rush ahead of the others and hit thier front lines good & hard before anyone Else got there?

Well, provided their transport doesn't get blown up/immobilized. If that happens to regular Nobz...it's not earth shattering. Mega Nobz though are so slow...pretty big.

Plus, even if they get across in the transport they need to roll 2d6 to assault after they deploy. Then after they eat that unit they need to roll 2d6 to move around....so I'm not a fan.

Play them if you want though and see if you can make them work, my opinion isn't the gospel .

I like Kustom Mega Blastas on my kans personally, because I have never found that orks have a hard time with crowd control. I have noticed that with the update to DW, it is necessary to have some AP2, and BS3 kans are an awesome platform.

I do also like the idea of a warboss and nob unit (troop) in a BW. I suggest using 7 nobs (all armed differently) to keep it cheap and effective.

Ard boys are cool, but it depends on what you want them to do. I use them as pseudo nobz (Mad Dok joining them), but in general I would say no. The more boyz you got, the more 'eds you stomp.
