Does anyone have tales of how much money they set aside for a particular army that was just released/ re-released and bought everything in one go after mapping out the codex? Mine: $100 since most armies im interested in are updated ones I already own.

I like to buy stuff a bit more piecemeal than that, but I've been lucky. The only armies that released/rereleased that I got right away were Space Marines and Space Wolves, and I already had sizable forces of both to begin with. I was also lucky enough to have them fall on my birthday

None, I only have the funds and time for one army, unfortunately. I generally buy things as I need them to make my force WYSIWYG (takes forever, but worth it in the end).

I dont put money aside as i dont want any of the army's that come out.

I buy as I go, usually on e-bay, then I realise I have to eat instant noodles for the rest of my pay.

Usually its about 100-200$ a month, depends if I have to pay the bills and such.

I dont save up for it. It takes me awhile to even drum up the "want" to spend the money on the stuff. I just have a REAL HARD time paying the prices GW asks for. Makes me sick sometimes.

Love the game to death, and have to buy to play.

Lately I've been having my stuff painted, and Assembled for me since I have more money than time. I'd say if I were to get into a brand new Army, I'd spend 3k on it. I don't really have to "set Aside" anything, since I have a pretty large disposable income.
