Im trying to make a chaos dreadnaught from the space marine versions with a missile launcher and a close combat arm but to my dismay, the arms on the space marine dread are on the same side. What model has a right close combat arm?

The Ironclad dreadnought has it, you can order it on most bits shops.

Good luck finding that one cheap.
You're best off trolling ebay and trying to get one at a reasonable price there. When I needed one, I finally got one for about $7. It took a few weeks of patience, but I wasn't willing to pay the bits store prices.
Another option would be making your own. While SM dread arms tend to be the standard fist, Chaos ones can be all kinds of awesome. Look at the arms that come with the metal Chaos dread - it was a hammer, a flail, and a claw. You could make any of those easily enough using the Right gun arms that come with the SM dread.

If you have a Chaos Vehicle sprue, you can also take the Havoc Launcher from it and glue it in place of the other arm, or cut off the barrel from either the assault cannon or Lascannon and glue it on there. The Havoc Launcher is basically a huge tube-style missile rack.

Nid parts are good to source. Skaven as well...specifically Hellpit Abomination. I am doing mine out of recycled Carnifex parts and an Ironclad Dread.

I like the venerable dread as a base for a chaos one. It's got all kinds of cool stuff on it you can trade away or use on other models (assault cannon, plasma cannon, lascannon) and if you leave off the front of the sarcophagus and use the curled-horn CSM head (like, the aspiring champion one?) it's a good match right out of the box. As a bonus, it comes with completely flat blank front armor plates suitable for doing nearly anything with.
Ditto to using the havoc launcher. You may already have one, or can get one for free, vs buying the "correct" one. On top of that, the Havoc launcher kinda looks better.
Here is my conversion. I used the CCW from the Venerable Dread, and then cut off the fingers from the hand and replaced them with shaved down Ork Choppas. Note I just started this conversion and haven't gotten too far yet, but I think you get the idea.

My best reccomendation to you is to simply go out and get the dreadnought. However much its worth, you can either keep it for a future project. Alternatively, you can sit patiently and wait a few weeks tracking several ebay sellers and come up with a long list of things you need. I've found some good sellers where I got cheap stuff, and alot of what I needed simply by waiting out.

@ouze
Is that a missle launcher on that venerable dreadnaught? Did you just switch it around?

It's the standard basic Ven Dread Front chest. It comes with a variety of ornate chestplates.
