Heya,

Was hoping someone might be able to give me a little advice?

Working on some of the new Dark Eldar models from GW, but having real trouble getting Urien Rakarth's icky extra arms and appendages to stay put!!

As some of the arms/bits are simply too slim to pin. Would using Green Stuff as a Bonding agent work, allowing the arms to me stuck in place while covering any gaps?

Beautiful model, but a real pain to put together. On my 5th try!

Thanks in advance if anyone's got any ideas/suggestions!

Loctite, and yes some GS might help..

if you use the tiniest bit of GS you can, it reacts with superglue pretty well, sort of "instant drying" type thing.

if GS doesnt work for you, make sure that you really clean it out good before trying to glue arms in again.

Make sure you score/lightly file the ares of the parts as sometimes theres a thin white powder release agent type stuff that ruins model making attempts!

Green stuff + Supeglue = a weak bond that will break. Greenstuff is not an adhesive.

First, wash the model in soap and water. This will remove the mold release which can cause problems.

Second, if you can, pin it. This will save you headaches in the future.

Third, if superglue won't work, use JB Kwik. This is a fast setting two part metal epoxy. Once that is used, you WILL NOT, be able to get that join apart again.

+1

This can also help if you leave the filings on the end of what you just filed...they can work with the glue to give you a nice adherence
