You just got to think outside the box some. Considering you can add space to the campaign, the game can be essentially even larger than a typical D&D game. I am still not sure how I am going to do it, but the lack of detail can always be filled in.
As for memorable characters, I can agree with you. The most memorable characters for me were
ID and Grahf, both of which had small roles when compared to the characters in the party.
