Subject: Ultramarine company colours, which looks best?

Hi folks,
I had a fun afternoon today building an ultramarine from leftover bits and pieces. I haven't got a picture; he's basically the chest plate from the captain, with those leather straps for a loincloth, bald, regal looking head with the laurel wreath on top, sternguard-style boltgun with leather strap, combat knife in the other hand. A few pouches and holstered pistol together with some eagle-thingy on the backpack complete the picture. In one word: coooooool.
So soon I am going to paint my first ever smurf. I normally collect a DIY, and this guy will be a one-off ultra just because I wanted to paint something different from time to time.
Now my question is: which of the company colours do you think works best with the ultra scheme? I can't really decide. I do like the gold/yellow ones, but on the other hand, that is so overdone. Red and green are nice, too, but has anyone ever done the other colours? In the codex, on those minis with different colours, it doesn't really stand out.
So I'm interested in any and all suggestions, as well as pictures of ultras from the less commonly seen companies.
Also, I promise I'll upload a picture or two once he's finished.

Gold Yellow and White are the best ones since they're actual complementary colours to the main blue color.

I don't like any of them except the yellow. I wouldn't mind blue on blue, but yellow just looks right. green and red just look too wierd and non-ultramarines-ish.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I have narrowed it down by now. It is going to be either orange (6th Co.), yellow (old schoolish) or I'll make him captain Idaeus by giving him a power sword instead of the combat knife and putting a centurion crest on the helmet resting on the ground in front of him.

Captain Ideaus sounds good.
And glad you avoided doing Uriel Ventris.

Even suggesting I might do Uriel 'Mary Sue' Ventris is shocking.

For a Captain I'd say go with Gold trim with a white helmet (even if its on the base or in his hand) classic smurfs all seem to have gold on them in some way.
