Just out of curiosity, which Legions during the Great Crusade had the most compliances?

I know that the Ultramarines and the Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves were at the top, but I also recall that the Word Bearers started slow, but then exploded with a vengeance.

Are there any lists describing the most effective legions at forcing compliance?

Not sure if there is a list but the top 5 would look like this (I think)
Horus-Sons of Horus
Guilliman-Ultramarines
The Lion-Dark Angels
Russ-Space Wolves
Lorgar-Word Bearers

I agree with that list, but i think Angron and Mortarion would be pretty high up as well. Compliance out of fear if anything.. from what was left of the planet anyway, similar to Russ and Lorgar perhaps?

I would put Angron next...

I have no idea as to an estimate on his total.

I'm just guessing from the way that they make war in the fluff as to his totals. I think Magnus and the Thousand Sons possibly near the bottom, same as the Alpha Legion.

Night Lords and Alpha legion would have had relatively low totals due to their fight style.
Magnus wasn't a big military type of person.

Thats what i was thinking too, also didnt the Alpha legion join pretty late in the crusade? and the thousand sons were busy getting "cured" for some time. I'd be interested to find out about some of the less mentioned legions though, like the Salamanders, White Scars and Iron Hands

Probably about right, not sure about the Word Bearers though.
Alpha Legion is definately last though. They were too busy screwing around not conquering worlds.

Maybe Word Bearers because arnt they pretty aggressive in their way of fighting? I'm pretty sure they were likened to Russ and his Wolves in the novel Thousand Sons, i might be wrong though.

Just read from other Dakkanaught they were 2nd biggest legion. Can anyone confirm?

Actually i remember seeing that somowhere but cant recall where..

As far as i know the Word Bearers were the 2nd biggest with only the Ultramarines being bigger than them.
