Saw this in the 40k forums, and thought it was kinda cool, so i stole it... lol
I want to do a sort of mock-interview with many players. I hope many of you will participate. Please answer these questions.

1. What armies do (did) you play?

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?

7. Your fav. army to play against?

8. What army do you hate playing against?

1 + 2: Skaven, b/c win, lose or self destruct, they are fun to play... Daemons, b/c i love the models, and Lizardmen b/c i got a really good deal on them

3: I haven't quit any armies as of yet... lol

4: I don't necesarily go for the "winning" lists, but rather what i find fun.... lol

5: Ogre Kingdoms probably, b/c they just seem like they would be a lot of fun to run... How can an army of monsters not be fun

6: Empire... I'm just not really big on many of the "human" armies in Fantasy, though the bretonians are tempting

7: Skaven, for the same reason I play them.

8: High Elves... Teclis, nuff said

Skaven: 3000 pts
Daemons: 3000 pts
Lizardmen: 4000 pts
Rohan: 2000 pts
Retribution: 70 pts (1-2-1 so far)
Jesus: check

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Currently High Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs, Dwarves and soon Vampire Counts.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Wife chose Dark Elves so I went with high. Dwarves because they got better in 8th, orcs for fun, wife wants vampires.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I tend to quit armies when I grow tired of painting them. So far I've quit Empire, High Elves in 6th, Lizardmen, Vampires, Brets.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I tend to min max lists without being WAAC. I also refuse to run cheesy things like 2 hydras

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
A horde army if it's free. Likely night goblins as I enjoy painting green skin.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Skaven or Ogres. I've just never cared much for them.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
I enjoy playing against dark elves, empire is also a fun opponent.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Wood Elves. MSU is a pain in the ass.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Lizardmen, Vampire Counts, Empire.... need a second Destruction army, thinking of Beastmen.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
Lizardmen- I liked the models mostly, the picture of the block of Saurus ranked up sold the army for me.
Vampire Counts - I love the idea of the army and how it plays, and love the skeleton models.
Empire - Again, liked the models, particularly the Greatswords and Warrior priest with Great Weapon.

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
Haven't yet.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I'm with aerethan and try to avoid things labeled as "cheese". I try and make my lists fluffy and balanced so that I can compete in each phase of the game and have loads of tactical options. I also include units because I like the models, like Temple Guard or Flagellants.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Beastmen, since I've been thinking about starting them and the cost is really what's holding me back right now.

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Daemons, I just don't really like the models, especially the Greater Daemons.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Dark Elves/Orcs and Goblins/Beastmen I love playing against.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Really any army being commanded by a WAAC general. There's no one army I hate to face, but I do hate to face THAT army.

1. What armies do (did) you play?
Tomb Kings primarily, with my second tier being goblins. I have High Elf, Empire, and a small dwarf army available, but I need to get the first two painted before I can truly play them without feeling guilty.

2. Why did you choose those army (ies)?
I chose the TK army because of the exotic feel and because of the awesome painting that forms the cover of the army book (full version inside the book - those white shields are beautiful, but I've had no luck in recreating them). The gobbos came about because the first fantasy edition I bought came with orcs and Empire, and I hate the orc models. But the sneaky bastardness of the goblins won me over, and now I just love their animosity, their cowardice, and their spiders. The High Elf army is shared with my girlfriend, who has a part time interest in the hobby, and because she likes lions. The IoB set's beautiful HE sculpts, with that wonderful griffon, was irresistable to me. I was going to try to trade away my empire army, but it got no love on the swap shop, so I delisted it. A few days later, I came across the model for Luthor Huss, and I started thinking about how nice an Averland force would look with its cute little detachments and tiny cannons. Same thing happened, more or less, with the dwarves. I had traded for a Skull Pass set for the goblins, and then started looking at the Dwarf sculpts. The O&G v. Dwarf/Bretonnia battle report in WD was actually the tipping point, and I traded again for a second set. Just in case I had painted all the other armies before I died....

3. If you quit an army, why did you do that?
I quit Eldar in 40K, if that counts, because the one craftworld whose fluff was interesting to me (Iyanden) was folded into the vanilla codex. In fantasy, I would say I 'quit' orcs and focused only on the goblins because I didn't like the orc miniatures.

4. How is your style of play (mostly army lists) unique?
I am very, very, very bad at every aspect of the game, which takes people off guard. I've had people actually stop and reconsider the board because they're absolutely convinced I'm using some cunning ploy to lure them into a trap, because NOBODY COULD BE THAT BAD AT A GAME. But, I must confess, I am.

Also, I tend to take units that I like the look of more than what's "good" or "effective." I don't have a style of play; I have a series of experiments.

5. If you were given free models to start a new army, which would you choose and why?
Probably lizardmen. I like the look and feel of them, to be honest. It doesn't really get much deeper than that. I'd have said Dwarves for the same reason, but I've technically already started them (kinda).

6. What is the last army you would ever choose to play?
Probably Warriors of Chaos. I liked Chaos when it was a mix of demons and men, but as it is, there's something about it that just seems... I dunno, cliche. I think there's just a very strong tendency to say "skulls and spikes! EVIL!" and no real thought behind them. But I could probably get behind a WoC that was devoted to Tzeench, Nurgle, or Slaanesh and really went to lengths to make it FEEL that way.

7. Your fav. army to play against?
Probably armies with novelty or high risk units, because they tend to belong to players who aren't very uptight. Skaven and O&G leap to mind, as do some builds of Empire. I like playing against people who try to beat you on the table and not on the roster sheet, if you know what I mean, so I don't know if I can say I have a favorite or Least Favorite ARMY to play against.

8. What army do you hate playing against?
Honestly? I'm just happy to get a game of fantasy in. It's rare enough that I don't care who it's against, so long as they're friendly.

1. Lizarmen, i started with 8th so just them.

2. Dinosaurs, nuff said.

3. Skip.

4. STAMPEDE!!! Which im told is sub par in 8th, altho i certainly enjoy it.

5. I'd take Dark Eldar, and then proceed to have another monster bash, chariots sound especially fun.

6. Empire, i find the fluff too... meh.

7. Orcs & Goblins, hillarity ensues every time that army hits the table.
8. Empire. Curse you cannons
