Ok...... first off, orks always have the weirdest nonsense happen.......

2500 pts triple objectives....

Today I played an ork player with my orks........

I have Ghazghkull Thrakka

He has Old Zogwort..........

I win deploy and go first......

Ghaz and pile of Nob Ork powerklaw nasty feel no pain painboy powerklaw packing baddies, alllllll sorts of orks, and battlewagons, trukks, looted wagons, deffkoptas, deff dreds, killa kans, speed buggies, every type of ork in the book ends up deployed on this table..... was crazy!

I see a trukk and boyz deployed with Old Zogwort..... obviously gets deployed near the Big G's Battlewagon.... tankbustas..... twin linked rocket launcher deff koptas.....

think to myself hmmmmm... self... that doesn't look good.....shoot first ask later.....

He steals initiative........

Trukks runs flatout to within 18 inches of Big G....

So his shooting phase starts.......

tank bustas and deffkoptas lay into getting the 700 points of nobs and ghaz out of Big G's pimpin battlewagon

so eventually out pops ghaz and nobs........

Zogwort takes psychic test......... passes....

Old zogwort's curse.... roll off and I lose.......

Trukk moved flat out, passengers can't shoot (unless I am mistaken)..... I read the weirdboy rules and old zogwort, and this and that.....

Should Big G have been turned into an unworthy although comicly ironic squig?

Well after reading the entries for Old Zogwort its not a psychic shooting attack or anything of that matter so I would say it was a legit move.

Zogwort's curse is not a psychic shooting attack. It can be used to target any IC in line of sight, including those locked in combat.

So yes, IMHO Zogwort's curse can be used even when the Trukk Zogwort is on moves flat-out.

Agreed, hence ended the greatest Ork in the universe, as a humble squig.... he was samarially eaten by a group of nobs with BBQ sauce and Taborksco sauce.....

heh.

Zogwort gets Kudos for getting that close to da big boss and daring to squig him. I've had mine eaten by warboss and ghaz squigs for that...

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

As an Ork player who enjoys using wierdboys in smaller games for fun, your opponent played improperly and Ghaz should NOT have been squigged in this particular instance.

Page 37 of the Ork Codex, top Paragraph - "At the beginning of each Ork Shooting phase". Performing a wierdboys psychic test and carrying out the results is always the first thing done in the shooting phase.

Hmmm, I think ork_smash is correct. Zogwart "may use his curse as a psychic power instead of rolling on the Weirdboy psychic power chart."

So the way that is written it looks like you have to use the curse at the point in time you would normally roll on the chart, i.e. at the beginning of the shooting phase. If it had said "select his curse as a psychic power instead.." it would be different.
