Here's a good one.

So, I'm a big fan of the jungle fighters imperial guard concept. There's some really cool fluff revolving around the Catachans and the artwork for them is some of my favorites. The whole, Vietnam, Arnold-Schwarzenegger-in-Predator-look appeals to me as an army. Rugged and practical, with each soldier having an individualistic look to him. I've been wanting to implement this idea for a while, but aesthetically, it presents an obstacle.

Sadly, the heads and arms in the Catachan Jungle Fighters box are pretty ridiculous-looking at best, and downright ugly at worst. I can stand the torsos and legs at least. The heads are pretty easy; I was thinking I could just swap them for gas masked heads, maybe from Pig Iron and fluff them as being from a world with a toxic atmosphere, or one populated by plants that emit toxic spores.

The arms present a greater challenge, and are what I'm looking for ideas and opinions on. What do you think Dakka? Is it a worthwhile endeavor, or should I just give in and do something different?

The heads and arms ARE Catachan.

I'm assuming this is a matter of opinion on your part elias. I really think the minis match the fluff and look pretty good doing it

Theres always an exception though and in this case its the one head that looks like the guy is trying REALLY hard to take a dump

Just my 2 cents

Yea, as said above the ridiculously muscular arms and big heads are what make them Catachan. This is why they're called baby Ogryns.

Wouldn't be nearly as bad if they would just fit right...

Shave down the shoulders and the arms look fine. You cant really do anything about the big hands. Another thing you can do is buy plenty of catachan heavy weapon/command squad boxsets as the arms and heads in these sets are much closer to the artwork and predator style.
