OK, just for a laugh I thought I'd make an army of Ripper Swarms. I don't think it quite comes to 1500 points, but it's not over 1500, so it doesn't matter.

I shall be putting explanations for the choices I make.


HQ:

The Parasite of Mortrex: 160 points.

Why: It's an awesome creature, and you can't take a Ripper Swarm army without it.

Troops:

9 Ripper Swarms with Tunnel Swarm: 108 points.

Why: Just here as a suicide squad. They pop up behind enemy lines, draw a lot of fire, and hopefully survive long enough to do some munchin'.

9 Ripper Swarms with Toxin Sacs: 126 points.

Why: 27 Ripper Swarms, all with Toxin Sacs, is enough to ruin anyone's day. They'll wreak absolute havoc against small armies that rely on high toughness, like Nurgle Daemons, and will be pretty nasty against things like Orks as well.

6 Tyranid Warriors, 1 with Venom Cannon: 195 points.

Why: To keep my little Rippers from perishing, and to destroy small infantry squads and light vehicles.

Heavy Support:

1 Carnifex with 2 sets of Twin-Linked Devourers with Brainleech Worms, in a Mycetic Spore: 230 points.

Why: They Deep Strike behind enemy lines, fire a gak-load of parasitic worms at any infantry squads, and then tear apart tanks in melee.

My only worry with this list is that it isn't very good at destroying tanks. However, consdering I'm not going to be building this army anyway, that's not a problem.

Meh, was going to post my 1k parasite list but felt it was abit too off topic as it doesn't run ripper swarms even thoguh it was copmettitive, the list you have posted simply doesn't have any tank destroying capability, especially if your DS misshaps and/or you dont get to assualt on the turn after you land, they can kill 2 carnifexs' a turn easily in my honest opinion.

Fluffy but has no anti-tank and is extremely vulnerable to Mass 8+ Str Weapons. It also is bad in objective Missions.

Parasite needs to be run in a squad of shrikes or gargoyles to keep it alive while it gets into CC.

The ripper swarms it creates are fun because they are free - I wouldn't actually pay for any though - and certainly not that many.

Fexes are nice in the spores - why not go the whole hog on spores and drop zoanthropes in as well for anti-tank.

I laugh when I see people do odd ball stuff with their armies. Anytime I hear of an all grot Ork arm, it makes me smile. Sure your list has its flaws, and anyone that takes this game to seriously will probably stomp the hell out of it. But for fun games, its about as fun as it gets. Id love to play against that TBH, you never know it might just pull out some surprising wins. Do a battle rep when you do play it

Yeah, i compleatly agree with cracker. That would be a fun army to play, but not a fun army to buy

I made a grot list with 180 grots as troop, big guns with as much crew as pos, three canz and two KFF meks and when i worked out the price it came to about £250 (or $400 USD) so i soon changed my mind about that one

I agree that the Parasite needs a brood of Shrikes or Gargoyles to stop it from being boltered to death. In all honesty, I just wanted to throw in as many Rippers as possible. Mission accomplished!

Who knows, when I've finished my 2500 point list (which is a way off yet) I might actually build this list, just for a laugh.

I think it looks like fun. I would just like to see all those rippers on the board it would be impressive. Not the most competetive option but definetly would give some people trouble.
