Space Marine Is Coming out at the end of the year
Does anyone want to get it If not why

Sure, why not? Although I much prefer consoles for 3rd person games, and PC for first person games.

Relic and THQ has never failed to deliver on 40k, so I'm definately getting it as soon as it comes out.

If it comes out on xbox, I'm definitely getting it.

Oh ya. This is a no brainer. Space Marine is the game I'm MOST excited about this year. I can't wait to pre order (hope there is a collectors edition)...

I'm of the opinion that they may be spreading the Warhammer 40k product too thinly.

With the MMO on the far horizon, I wonder if they are going to sacrifice the quality of their table top game if the electronic media becomes much more profitable by a huge margin.

Considering there's been no in-depth previews, no reviews, or system specs posted, it's still a mystery. What little has been shown looks promising though. I know I'll probably be getting it, but it's a little early to ask this question.

December is probably more correct. Historically summer is a real dry season as far as game releases. Most games come out around the holiday season, or in the spring.

Yeah, it uses an outdated article from what I can tell.
This is the cited source for the release date, and even then it only puts it as "anticipated" and subject to change.

Steam has the Summer 2011 release date, but Amazon has it listed as December 31st, 2011.

I'm more inclined to trust Amazon, less trusting of Steam simply because they had it listed as "Winter 2010" until that THQ Investor report came out. Gamestop doesn't have a release date listed other than 'Preorder', and Best Buy just plain doesn't have it listed(which they would if it had a definitive release date of the summer).

Amazon said Duke Nukem Forever was going to come out in February this year as of December, so I guess what I'm trying to say is... nobody knows! It would be nice to see this game sooner rather than later though, as it looks pretty rad.

As of December, that was the projected release date though

Gearbox had said that "we're looking at February for the release" in December...then it got pushed back, again.

GW merely licenses these games, they don’t make them.

Same as the Ultramarine movie, they sell the rights to some studio and the studio makes the movie.

I voted the two bottom ones; so basically my plan of action is to wait a little bit, then, whilst doing the waiting (sneaky that) get up off of my lazy arse and get some physical exercise into me Two benefits; I get exercise (duh) and I get to read reviews of it and see if it's worth spending part of my precious student loan on

My purchase of it will be dependent on how flexible it is. Is Space Marines the only playable race? is one chapter the only useable one?

I'll still get it if SM is the only race; but only if theres more chapters to use.

In single player, I doubt it. If there's competitive multiplayer then there will probably be other skins and such.

Especially considering it's a 3rd person shooter; not a RPG.

There's a story framework in place, and anything else would just feel...tacked on.

But hey, at least in two years we get Dark Millenium right?
