Hello there chaps!

Basically, I had a massive DE army for years, then now the new stuffs out and Ive bought a good enough wee bit, but havent got round to painting anything with my current abilities.

Basically, I repainted the whole army for gaming standards, then started my orks, then abandonned them for my Crimson fists, then halfed them and started Howling griffons, which are the best things Ive painted so far, leaving this lot fairly near the bottom..

So this is to change that! My armys still mostly old models, but I hope it will eventually be mosty new models, although I will probably keep using the old warrior models, as it would be too costly and time consuming to replace them all, plus I use the new ones as trueborn, (which I take a lot of!)

Heres what Ive got; (click then zoom in to read the labels)

Everything that isnt pained enough for now or is on its way to being painted enough for what they are (warriors), is going to get a re-spray. I'll be using Halfords matt black seeing as GW Chaos black is really grey/white lol. Then I'll build up the whole army layer by layer, probably completing certain smaller units along the way for variation, (a bit like the way I did my griffons until I temporarily abandonned them, which I'll hopefully get finished alongside these chaps).

Im going for mainly blue armour, but I want it to be mottled and slightly stormy and effectish in some ways, so Im practicing on the old warriors. The weapons will all be done a dull steel colour with blue tints, then there will be some gold fancy bits and crystals of every colour, energy glows of fluo green, orange markings and also some white in there too. So thats the highly detailed plan. lol

Heres some terrible close ups of my make-do temporary conversions (as I wait for GW to bring out the models...). Some of these pics you may have already seen. Im intending to make a really good job of the new models. I spent ages modelling them and tidying them all up and green stuffing problem areas like the wyches shoulder pads, which dont match up properly, so most of these pics are just for comedy value and to show you how Ive hastily overcome problems with the lack of model releases.

Sslyth and hekatrix

Venoms and old Ravager

Scourges

Sliscus

Talos and Cronos (chain flails and Spirit Vortex (green blob))

Various new things

New Raider

So there we go, its started anyway.

Cheers for viewing and making it this far down the page with my ramblings and unfulfulling pictures, but the quality of waffle and pictures should rocket upward now that I will be motivated to do lots and lots! There is however, as you can see, an awful lot to do, and thats even before I start replacing the old models!

Heres my howling griffon bog from a few months ago if you want to see recent images of what Ive been doing with paint.

Cheers chap!

(Cant stop saying chap these days)

Im guessing you mean the Sslyth heads, which came from a chaos vindicator sprue.

Theyre pretty hilarious looking at the moment but I should be able to make them look acceptable by the time theyre finished.

I dont use the archon court much, well Ive used it once and didnt think much of it, but Il try it again sometime before I completely slag it. Using old warp beasts as Urgul for the mean time.

Ah, yes I meant the Sslyth, sorry about the lack of specificity. Some very good things in that link.

The one Sslyth on the right has made me chuckle every time I see it. I would like to have an Archon-court. Mainly for fluff, been looking at options for the different races that it entails. The hands on them look out of place.

Get some work done, please.

& Cheers!

Cheers for the continuing intrest! lol

Yea, the hands look out of place, as does the rest of it lol. It was litterally a last minute knock up job.

Im not sure when I'll get another update. Suppose I could be painting now like, but Ive got the biggest stretch of teaching ahead of me Ive ever had. 12 students in a row with no break, thats 6 hours of constant talking! lol

Maybe if I finish the other 2 raiders tonight, get everything sprayed tomorrow after rock climbing and spendthrifticity, I'll be able to start with a bit of paint and hopefully get an update before our band go on our mini tour on thursday. To many hobbies! lol

Finally I got something more done!

Been really busy at the moment, but I got the ball rolling with a good mornings spray painting!

When I get a bit more free time, Ill finish building my Raiders, Ravager and Incubi and do a bit more, but heres some very boring undercoating updates.

You can see my Sliscuss model fairly clearly here from a modeling point of view anyway.

Now Ive still got to decide what colour scheme Im going for. I was tempted to go for black but I was originally thinking of blue. Could go for any colour realy!

Again, sorry about the dissapointing update, but Ill get my act together as soon as I can. Far too damn busy these days!

Full on, Full on!
