Alright, so the Space Wolves set up first they Razorbacks are in a line with the Wolves in front of them, Long Fangs are up in a tower and the Rune Priests are together in front of the Wolves.
I set up pretty much the same way, my Terminators and Obliterators are in Reserves, my Havocs set up on top of a building, my Daemon Prince and Lord are standing out in front.
Space Wolves seize first turn.
Turn 1-A (Wolves)
So the wolves charge forward and the Razorbacks move behind them. The Rune Priests move forward in a line.
All four Rune Priests cast Living Lightning on my Daemon Prince, in total they fire 14 shots at him and 10 hit the Prince, followed by wounding him 6 times and he failing 3 Armor Saves left him dead on the first turn.
The Long Fangs fire their missiles at my Havocs, only 1 hit and was saved to the 4+ Cover Saves the ruin gave.
Turn 1-B (Chaos)
My Lord charges towards the Rune Priest Enclave and then runs another +6"
My Rhinos follow my Lord in suit.
My Havocs open fire on the Long Fangs, Landing 3 Shots with their Autocannons and delivered 2 unsaved wounds.
Turn 2-A (Wolves)
The Wolves moved foward with the Razorbacks following close behind.
Rune Priests move with the gang and aim their Lightning at my Lord. A total of 17 hits with Living Lightning, 14 hit and 13 wound and...4 unsuccessful armor saves. leaving one dead Chaos Lord.
Long Fangs split fire onto my Rhinos 2/2, with 1 hitting Rhino A and 2 hitting Rhino B. Rhino A was Stunned for a Turn and B was fine (the missiles weren't able to puncture the hull)
Turn 2-B (Chaos)
All my Rhinos aside from the one stunned move forward.
Havocs open fire onto the Long Fangs, landing 6 hits and dishing 1 wound.
Turn 3 - A (Wolves)
The Razorbacks unload their heavy bolters onto the Rhinos and manage not penetrate any of their hulls.
The Rune Priest aim at the poor Rhino A hitting it with 13 hits from Living Lightning. 5 penetrate and destroy the Rhino! The Plague Marines manage to get out in time.
The Long Fangs (the 3 that are left more like it) open fire at Rhino B, one missile hit and the Crew was Stunned.
Turn 3 - B (Chaos)
RESERVES COME IN! My Terminator Deep Strike in front of the the Wolf Horde landing on a Dime. Obliterators land and scatter 4" towards the enemy.
Rhinos are now directly in front of the Wolf Horde.
Havocs fire at the Long Fangs land 6 shots and manage to kill 2 more Long Fangs leaving 1 alive.
Obliterators open fire on the Wolf Horde firing two Plasma Cannon Rounds that manage to kill a total of 8 together.
Terminators fire the Heavy Flamer and Bolter Rounds and manage to kill 6 more Wolves.
Turn 4 - A (Wolves)
Wolves move in towards the Plague Marines
Grey Hunters start to pile out of their Razorbacks
Rune Priests split up into two and fire at both rhinos destroying both! My Plague Marines are out in the open!
The a squad of wolves assault each one of my Plague Marines. Plague Marine Squad A lost 3 Marines and killed 7 Wolves, Plague Marine Squad B lost 1 and killed 4 wolves, Squad C didn't lose a single squad member and manage to kill 3 wolves.
The Lone Long Fang fires a rocket at the Havocs but they got lucky and the missile missed.
Turn 4 - B (Chaos)
the Obliterators fired at a Rune Priest with their Assault Cannons, killing 1.
Havocs Opened Fire at the Single Lone Wolf and managed to finish him off.
Terminators fired their Combi-Meltas and destroyed a Razorback
The Plague Marines engage back into melee combat, Squad A kept up its loosing streak and lost the other 4 members of the squad before killing 1 more wolf.
Plague Marine Squad B managed to land 6 unsaved wounds and finished off that squad
Squad C manage to land another 4 wounds on the wolves and lost one themselves.
Turn 5 - A (Wolves)
three squads of Grey Hunters Open Fire on the Plague Marines and managed to wound 1 but he was saved by Feel No Pain.
2 squads fired at the Terminators but they managed to shrug it off.
the 3 Rune Priest opened up fire with Living Lightning on the Obliterators and in short killed both of them (QQ)
-In short the Wolves were killed out by the Plague Marines in CC
2 Squads of Grey Hunters Assaulted the Terminators who killed all 10 of them in CC (oh yeah chain fists)
Turn 5 - B (Chaos)
Terminators move towards the other 4 Razorbacks.
Plague Marines move towards the Grey Hunters
Havoc open fire on Grey Hunters killing all 5.
Turn 6 - A (Wolves)
Rune Priests and Razorbacks get into position to fire at Terminators
Grey Hunters move towards Plague Marines
Rune Priests open up a fissure with 3 Jaws of the World Wolf and managed to kill 1 Terminator, the Razorback's Heavy Bolters manage to kill the other 2.
Turn 6 - B (Chaos)
Plague Marines open fire on the Grey Hunters killing 3 (1 per squad)
Havocs finished off a squad of Grey Hunters.
Turn 7 - A (Wolves)
Rune Priests fire their Living Lighting at a squad of Plague Marines, landing a total of 15/15 hits and 13 wound leaving with 5 unsaved wounds and 4 failed feel no pain rolls.
Grey Hunters and Razorbacks open fire and take out the final 3 Plague Marines with combined fire.
Turn 7 - B (Chaos)
Plague Marine Squad and Havocs focused fire on a single Grey Hunter Squad and managed to kill the rest of them.
Turn 8 - A (Wolves)
Razorbacks and Rune Priests fire at the Havocs killing all 5 in one swoop
Grey Hunters dish a wound to the last squad of plague marines
Turn 8 - B (Chaos)
Plague Marines keep firing at the Grey Hunters and manage to miss every shot
Turn 9 - A (Wolves)
Priests fire lightning and everyone else focuses fire on the last plague marines killing them all.
Q.Q Bad day for Chaos
Also wants me to start a space wolf army to do the Lightning Enclave.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just FYI this was a Dawn of War game with Battle to Death (must eliminate everyone) Automatically Appended Next Post: I also forgot to mention what happens with my CHOSEN! they were killed by wolves in turn 3 (sorry it was early this morning)

They shouldn't have. They all have to have different psychic powers. His list is illegal.

I can't find any rules in the Space Wolves Codex that say that each Rune Priest must have a different Psychic Power.

what a hokey ass waac SW list. if my opponent fielded that against me in a friendly game i'd spit in his eye =P
i guess you learned your lesson and to take your chances with the long fangs and focus all fire on rune priests. those guys demolished half your army.

Page 81, bottom of the page @The Leaders of the Pack
"...no two characters may bear the same saga, nor may they bear the same psychic powers or wargear combination."
Now I'm pretty sure that each of his Rune Priests could have taken Living Lightning assuming they each had a different second power, but I agree with the other poster, this list is dangerously cheesy, so much so that you might have been playing Chester Cheeto in disguise.

Side effects of worshiping Papa Nurgle include (and are not limited to): Boils, scabs, internal bleeding, external bleeding, bleeding from the gums, eyes and ears, sweating, dehydration, furuncles, rash, pus-filled sores, nausea, vomiting, bloody vomit, black vomit, black & bloody vomit, sneezing, runny nose, dry nose, coughing, dry cough, wet cough, not-so-dry-but-still-raspy coughing, fever, hay fever, athlete's foot, athlete's arm, swimmer's ear, farmer's tongue, drowsiness, sleepiness, insomnia, mad cow disease, mad postal worker disease, loose bowels, constipation, anal leakage, and blood clotting. In most cases side effects were generally in the extreme and permanent. Consult your local cultist before worshiping Nurgle. |

Other than the mixup with the psychic powers, I'm not sure that this is that cheesy/WAAC a list.
He has 5 Razorbacks, some RP, Fenrisians wolves and one unit of Longfangs. Wow, super competitive.
For 1500, I usually run 3 LF Packs and 4 GH with Razors, along with other stuff and even mine isn't over the top. His is pretty tame comparatively.

Each of the Rune Priests is required to have a different combination of psychic powers as well as different wargear.
Also, did he honestly pass all the morale checks on the wolves? They are only ld 6(assuming they use the ld of the cyberwolf), so during that first combat round with the plague marines, one of them should have been reduced to ld 2 for their check, while the other 2 were down to ld 3.

haha this line is epic could i quote this in my signature?
on topic... even though you lost the game, the batrep was cool and you took it like a man! When on SW turn one the 4 Rune Priests turned your DP into KFC in the blink of an eye, I thought to myself, only a squad of Angry Marines can save you now

Feel free to quote, I chuckled a bit as well envisioning someone unpacking this SW list and saying "DANGEROUSLY CHEESY" at the same time.
I also agree with you, the chaos player played a damn good game against such an unforgiving list.

Seriously guys, if you think this is cheese, you've seen nothing. I'm starting to think that certain people will call any space wolf list cheese.
Not to take anything away from your game Murray, you did a great job, and you're list is quite competitive.
