Dear [_Insert_Name_Here_],
I dont get it, it says that you can re-roll a single die every player turn (power or dispel), but is it only your or both you and your opponent? The reason i ask is that the last part states " this can be used to prevent a miscast, cause an Irresistible force, or cause a dispel attempt to automatically pass or fail." I just cant imagine a player ever wanting his dispel attempt to fail, unless they're talking about an opponents dispel roll.
So theese are my questions before i go to bed,
1) do you think this should work for both you and your opponents dice?
2) if not why would you ever want a dispel attempt to fail?
3) and to take it literally about "you" re-rolling a dice, where does it say that the mighty hand of Tzeentch cant come down and re-roll an opponents dice (though do note people are picky about their dice and may shank you while your not looking)
love always and forever.
Magus Nebula
P.S. I left you dinner in the oven.

"Player turn" is used to differentiate your phases from the overarching term "turn." A "turn" is comprised of your "player turn" and your opponent's "player turn." So yes, you can do this during your opponent's turn if it is worded that way. However, I would ask your opponent to re-roll the dice, as opposed to touching them. Never thought that was a big deal when I first started, I learned quick.

Actually turn == player turn unless specified otherwise - theyre just removing any doubt, as even thuogh this has been a rule for many years tehy recently put it in the 40k BRB FAQ....
I have no idea why you would want a dispel attempt to fail, however that in itself is not permission to reroll an opponents dice - especially if it states "you" can reroll a dice; if "You" didnt roll it in the first place "you" cannot POSSIBLY reroll it!
So, assuming it specifies "You", or something else that denotes the owner of the Tz gift, you MAY NOT reroll a dice an opponent has rolled, as you did not roll it in the first place

It's just saying that by re-rolling, the new result stands as if it were a new roll. So if you re-roll a dispel attempt on a single die, it automatically fails on a one or a two.
This was a little more relevant with the dispel mechanics back in 7th, so don't get to wrapped up in what might be "implied" here.

THat makes sense - in 7th it could make it fail through a double-1 - say you tried dispelling a 7 on 3 dice:
First roll was {1,1,3} which would fail, so you reroll a "1" and get another 1 - no matter what bonuses you have to dispelling this is still a fail in 7th ed
In 8th ed you only fail automatically on a natural 1 or 2 on your dice, so you cannot fail automatically with 3 dice, and would be unlucky to do so on 2

ah ok cool , so you cant have your opponent reroll a dispel dice or power dice, man thats too bad. Well.... with a little conversion work.... i could attach one of those gripper claws on a stick to the DP and have the "demon prince" reroll a dice j/k
