I was thinking of doing them to start out, and was wondering if they're good at shooting as well as assault.

I dont know much about the SW, but any space marine army is a good platform of introduction to the 40k universe...typically, they are balanced, have great stats, and give the player a variety of options and ways to build your amry.

grey hunters are a great back bone to an army, Bolter, BP and CCW oh and counter attack!

Then perhaps, some long fangs, good heavy support and a character and great starting place
