Here's a 1,250-point list for a Sunday "Badab War" event at the local GW. Normally the illustrious Eldar would never lower themselves to engage in the petty internecine conflicts of the Imperium, but my Farseer went to college with Huron.
Please critique. Difficulty: the list MUST contain the jetbike unit as shown. The whole reason I'm playing the event is to try them out.
HQ
Farseer; Doom, Guide, Spirit Stone, Runes of Witnessing
Elites
6 Fire Dragons
Wave Serpent with Twin Shuriken Cannon, Spirit Stones
Troops
8 Dire Avengers; Exarch with Bladestorm, Twin Shuriken Catapults
Wave Serpent with Twin Scatter Lasers, Spirit Stones
8 Dire Avengers; Exarch with Bladestorm, Twin Shuriken Catapults
Wave Serpent with Twin Brightlance, Spirit Stones
6 Guardian Jetbikes; 2 with Shuriken Cannons. Warlock with Singing Spear and Embolden
Heavy Support
3x War Walker; 2x Scatter Laser each
Total: 1247
Anti-tank comes from the Dragons, the Brightlance Serpent, and to a lesser extent from the Jetbike Warlock. I'm hoping there aren't too many Land Raiders in a 1,250-point game. Everything else eats infantry. Other units at my disposal: Scorpions, Rangers, a few more DA, and a Fire Prism.

Looks good, personally I would drop one fire dragon for scatter lasers on the dragon's serpent. You'll get more milage out of the +12” range and extra shot then you will out of an extra melta on the suicide squad.
Also may want to consider dropping two stones for runes of warding

My thought was that range matters less to a Serpent carrying Dragons... I'll have to think about it. Warding is a good idea, since it's a team game, and one RoW would make everyone on the other side of the table roll 3d6. I hadn't thought of it because my regular opponents aren't into psykers.
Thanks!

I took the list as shown and I thought it did OK. We lost a 2 vs 2 game (Eldar and IG versus Codex SM and the new Grey knights) but it was close. The bikes were fun but due to bad rolling they didn't do much damage. The cover save I expected from the assault move didn't work out as our SM opponent was Salamanders, with many flamer templates, including a Firestorm LR. Ouch.
Next time I'll try them in two units of three (where one gets the Warlock). I also need to try smaller DA squads - 8 was too large, as they jumped from their Serpent to wipe out some PAGK's but were then simply charged by the Dreadknight monstrosity.
PS: I did take the Rune of Warding and was glad for it...thanks for the tip.

#1 thing to remember about the jetbikes, they are sillt guardians and are not offensive. If there is ANY threat to them then don't get them in there.
Also, your TO is a dumbarse for allowing the new GK codex that isn't even released yet.

Yea, if RoWard was neccessary before, Codex: GK should just hammer that into peoples brains finally. Everything those guys do is a Pyschic Test.
Surprisingly, Eldar hold up very well against the GK's, you just cannot let them assault your squads first. You dont want the Psyk-Outs dropping your expensive council to Initiative 1.
Banshees perform well against them as they do with any other marine book, and may well replace the Seer Council as the CC element since Init 6 GK's will become so commonplace.

The game was at a GW and the player used the store copy of the codex. His models were old, except for the DreadKnight that was the store's model - not even fully assembled at the time.

Wow that just isn't right, hopefully it wasn't a payed tournie or I'd call some serious shenanigans on that.

I don't think it was a tournie, just a friendly game.

Every Saturday (I thought it was on Sundays, I was wrong) the local GW has an afternoon game with a few special scenario rules. 4-6 people show up. Not a tourney.
