So, many of you know of Goatboy and his Goat Marines (if not here is the link to his blog http://goatboy40k.blogspot.com/).
Well I always liked the idea that he had an army that could be fielded as Vanilla Marines, Chaos Marines, Space Wolves, or Blood Angels.
I wanted to emulate Goatboy with my own version so here are my ideas of some Marines;
Lizardmen; an very Aztec themed army with snakes and lizards all over the bases. Lizards such as Salamanders/Razordon could be use as Wolves/Lesser Daemons. In terms of conversions the marines would probably have Lizardmen Sheilds and Weapons, probably a banner or two. I dont see how I can make the Lizardmen heads fit.
Tomb Kings; Egyptian Skeleton Marines. This could be interesting, but they might be confused for a Pre-Heresy Thousand Son army (which probably isn't a bad thing). The models would have the Shields, Swords, and Possibly Skeletal heads and wear bone-white armor and red weapons. I guess snakes and lizards would still be count-as Wolves/Lesser Daemons or maybe insect swarms.
Vampire Counts; probably the same as the Tomb Kings only more fleshy undead and Bats everywhere. I guess I could field Ghouls as Lesser Daemons and Dire Wolves as Wolves. I still have the ''Fanged" Khorne Berserker heads so modeling a Vampire Lord/Captain wouldn't be to hard.
Skaven; This I know would be a Steam-Punk Rat-Marine army that would more than likely be mechanized and deal in range-fire power, Lesser Daemons and Wolves would be giant rats. probably a lot of GS on the necks to make them fit in the Power Armor.
Any feed back would be appreciated

I'm always in favor of ideas that make it seem like there are fewer Space Marine codices out there. Just make sure your opponent is alright with the army you're fielding, and is 100% clear on which codex you're actually using. And don't be like one guy I know and bring four Marine codices to a tournament and sneakily switch them out after you see what army you're going up against in the next round.

I can't really say that I could see any of the ideas working. It seems like a potentially good idea that would be very poorly executed, like the kid who wants to make his own unique land raider, but it pretty much ends up being a shoe box on pinewood derby wheels.
The only way I think you could incorporate SM, CSM, BA, and SW into a unified theme is to:
Create a pre-heresy/heresy era Chapter with either red as a central color or a blood drop icon, all while utilizing most of the bitz from SW box sets.
By doing this you can justify each one by saying:
SM: It's a pre-heresy chapter
CSM: It's a heresy era/post heresy traitor/tainted chapter who still wear their original armor
BA: The red, blood drop, or the fangs from the SW set
SW: Wolf Pelts, long hair, wolf tails, fangs, bloodthirsty wolves (blood icon) etc.
That's just a thought though. Also, edited 3 times because of my overall general derp and lack of sleep Automatically Appended Next Post: SaintHazard wrote:And don't be like one guy I know and bring four Marine codices to a tournament and sneakily switch them out after you see what army you're going up against in the next round.

I get the feeling from the OP that the concept is still in the pre-alpha stages, and the execution is a work in progress, which is why I didn't say anything akin to the above post, but it is relevant and shares my own feelings.
Anyway, if I'm right, the concept will probably be fleshed out a bit more before it's executed. I could be wrong, though! It happens once a decade or so!
And now I'll stop speaking for people who are not me.

Lol, This is just a fledgling of an idea, I am just trying to work out the odds and ends of it.
I am just thinking of a fun unique army with lots of individual units, I was actually thinking of making a Lizardmen count-as Dark Eldar army, I felt that was just stupid after about 5 minutes of actually looking at what I wrote down.

They're all power-armored, there's no reason you can't have a generic "successor chapter" of any of the Space Marine legions.
Assuming you're doing it for gameplay reasons and not for fluff reasons.
You could also pick a generic color (e.g. bone white) and model all of your marines as generics and detail different Sergeants for each squad (fur for SW, red for BA, a mace for Codex Marines, tentacles for Chaos) and HQ.
Vehicles could all be done with magnets.

Space Wolves. TWCs can be Saurus Cavalry and the Lizards seems like they're quite suited to close range face removal. A Slann can also be Njal.

I think that you should not focus on making your list fit BOTH the Blood Angels AND the Space Marine codex.
BA generally use assault squads as troops, They have BP/CCW. Space marines use Tac Squads, and they only have Bolters/Bolt Pistols. the whole point of this is to have marines that can change from one codex to another, and BA and SM do not overlap with equipment as much.
IF YOU GO THE BP/CCW ROUTE your "generic lizard marines" can be Grey Hunters for SW, Assault Marines for BA, CSM/Bezerkers/Noisers/Plauge for CSM and Crusaders for BT
IF YOU GO THE BOLTER ROUTE you get Grey Hunters for SW, CSM/noisers/plague/1k sons for CSM, Crusaders for BT, Tac squads for SM
Lizards and such can be used as bikes instead of just Thunderwolves.
One last note, use marine models as the basis for your project, and then buy bits and or sets of Lizardman stuff to use as equipment. If you really want a Lizardman army, then just learn how to play fantasy. Marines with cool conversions is fine, saying that these lizards are marines is a little less fine.

Not to mention a lot of players wouldn't really care for all the substitutions, because it will fog their strategy throughout the game (because of forgetfulness or mix-ups). I believe you mentioned something about not playing in tournaments, but in the off chance that you try to play in a tourney, you, in most cases, won't be able to use such a heavily converted stand-in army. As a final note, you have to think about the potential for resale value. In this case, I doubt anyone will want to buy Lizard Marines. You never know, you might want to sell them one day to start something new...
