I keep reading threads about "wound wrapping" "wound dancing" or whatever else it may be called. I thought that you were supposed to allocate wounds in this fashion:
Let's say you have a unit of 5 infantry who have 2 wounds each. The unit takes 3 wounds. You would place 2 wounds on 1 man, then the final on a second guy.
From what I've read on the forums you would take those three wounds, then place a single wound on a different guy, then follow suit until all 5 guys have a single wound, then add wounds on each guy, killing them off.
Unless I'm missing something around the forums, I suppose the game shops I play at just have a house rule of not allowing "wound wrapping" because I've never seen it done in such a way to spread the wounds across a unit.

Page 25 of you rulebook "Complex units" might help your understanding, as the title states it's 'complex' there are these 'wound groups'.
In the most basic form one must assign a wound to each member of each group before assigning another, individual wargear/models create the groups.

Thanks for the clarification. I reread the rulebook recently so I'm not sure how I missed that. After reading that rule, I'll definitely start allocating wounds as the rulebook says. I'm still not sure why the players at the game shop would place wounds like how I described. Kinda odd

WHere your 5 man, 2 wound squad are all identical (stats, equipment, etc) the end result is the sitution you describe.
That is because, while yo ucallocate wounds evenly by model to begin with, you then group wounds inti groups of like models, take saves and then remove wounds from *within* that group. The rules for models with more than 1 wound then kicks in and forces you to place the 2nd unsaved wound on an already wounded mdoel, killing it.
