Largely speculation, but 8th ed for fantasy rolled around and since 7th ed for Fantasy coincided with the release of 5th ed for 40k, some people have thought 6th is rolling around the corner.

I have heard no meaningful reference towards 6th Edition.
If you assume 5-6 years between editions, then another wouldn't be due until 2013-2014.

Stickmonkey said that there will be a 6th edition in 2012, with a starter set including Eldar. But he has been wrong before and it is still a long way from now.

I'm hoping they finish updating the remainder of the "armoury" codexes before moving onto 6th. We really shouldnt have any codexes lagging by at least 2 editions anymore.

I keep seeing it pop up as well and i first I thought people where getting ahead of themselfs but once I actually sat down and thought about it..It is getting close to that time.
I could see a 2012 6th ed release..but xmas 2012.
Given that time frame from now till then(20 months) there is a decent amount of time to get most of the dexs done that need it.

Necrons
Tau
SoB
Chaos Space Marines.
Black Templar
Dark Angels
Orks and Deamons were released right before 5th so I see them getting left out as well as I am sure a few others wont get a 5th ed dex but will get a 6th ed pretty soon I would imagine. I am sure the flow will get messed up come 6th since I am sure GW will jump to the armies that sell well first. (marines)
