I am wondering because i am planning to make a scratchbuilt one. Is it the 50mm one, or the 40mm?

If you use the plastic GIANT as a guideline, it does indeed come with a base that is 50mm wide and 75mm deep. Personally I cannot see anything wrong with plain old 50x50mm base either.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

In a tournament/serious gaming environment, the nonstandard base size may cause some disagreements.
