Ok, just reviewing this list i tried, and it worked pretty damn well on its own.
Was in a 2-1000 point team tournament list, with shared FoC, played with horde orcs, had like 200 models on the table.
This list is something i can see being very useful in any tournament, because who really expects a horde guard army?
Ard boyz list ive fooled around with is 45 lascannons and 24 AC's along with like 9 ML's or something very similar to that.
This list was the, incase we face armor LC it to the face or medium armor use AC. Worked really well against Monstrous creatures and DE, Rhinos, Chimeras etc.
The amount of models in this list allows you to compete with a horde list since you are one.
Here we go;
Company Command Squad with Autocannon
Infantry squad 1:
Platoon Command Squad- Autocannon
Infantry squad 1 & 2 - Lascannons
Infantry squad 3 - Autocannon
Heavy Weapons Squads 1, 2, & 3 --- 2 Lascannons, 1 Missile Launchers
Infantry squad 2:
Platoon Command Squad- Autocannon
Infantry squad 1 & 2 - Lascannons
Heavy Weapons Squads 1, 2 --- 3 AutoCannons
Guardsmen Marbo
This has 10 Lascannons, 10 Autocannons, and 3 missile Launchers.
Along with Models Count of 73
Played to sit and shoot and if an object needs capturing run one of two squads, at 1500 or more points i would continue with no vehicles and maybe bring in some melta squads or something that can move and shoot to capture.
But with the Orcs i had no need to move, placed our objects under Heavy Weapons and opponents thought they were heavy choice so didnt care.

I'd take advantage of that company command squad and give them a master of ordnance. All that shooting would benefit from a random blast template somewhere on the table.

How about taking a Officer of the Fleet? The ability to slow down deep striking armies so that you can deal with them in a more piece-meal fashion seems like a good idea to me.
Also a Witch Hunter Inquisitor with a psychic hood would be nice.

Looks pretty good! I'm not a huge fan of a static gunline army, but this is how you would go about making one IMO. I think that the best way to expand would be to follow the horde idea and get a few power blobs with melta weapons and commissars to capture objectives, and maybe throw in straken to lead them, but its all up to you.

Meh, it's a paper tiger. Lots of infantry heavy weapons for this points level, but that's all it's really offering. Once you start taking return fire (or, emperor protect you, close combat), things will start to fall apart in an awful hurry.
