I am just wondering if you guys think that there will ever be a codex for them? While they are a lot more codex than the other chapters that have received separate codexes(SW, BA, DA, BT), I feel that the Raven Guard would probably qualify for a Codex of their own, mainly due to the fact that they are forced to fight in a much different manner than the other chapters because of their gene seed deficiency. The chapter tends to focus more on fast hitting, tactical strikes, and doesn't use as many heavy vehicles as other chapters, mainly a reduced number of Landraiders and preds.

I was just wondering what you guys thought about this.

Don't Raven Guard have a Special Character in C:SM to give them some distinct rules like Imperial Fists, Salamanders, Crimson Fists, and White Scars.

Probably not. The only reason there is a Space Wolf and Angels of Death codex were because they were there since the beginning of codexes. The Black Templars are there because they "graduated" from an Armageddon army list. Raven Guard never had any of those, so it's very unlikely they will ever get their own codex.

Personally They should just get rid of the Dark Angel and Blood Angel codexes. Blood Angels should be fighting as per Codex Astartes, a simple Chapter Trait should suffice for them. The ones that deserve their own codexes are the marines who actually have different organisations (like Iron Hands and White Scars), and even then it's a stretch, as SMs in general should be very rare compared to everything else.

This will never happen, and in an alternate reality where it does there will be a torrent of nerdrage over how there's "way too many SM books"

if anything i would like to see a return to "angels of death" and wrap both angels chapters into ONE book. there's very little reason for either to warrant their own separate books so you might as well rewrap them back together.
I think i want this mostly because that was my first codex.... but really, they do not need separate books. Dark angels don't even do anything unique anymore except terminator troops (that GK will be doing soon)

I personally think 5th ed. SM books did it right. Took a lot of the major chapters and just handed them SCs and traits so that we didn't end up with more unnecessary separate marine books.

So as far as raven guard goes.. be happy with shrike, korvydae, and whatever other fw characters there are.

DA's only unique thing right now is Terminator Command Squads, and, like you said, is going to be soundly put down when GKs get Termies with Apothecaries too. After that, Sammael will be the only reason to take them over other Marine codexes.

The different codeci were made to show different organisation.
BT and Sw both use the Codex as either toilet paper or an improvised weapon so they get their own codex for that (And Sw has been around for yonks)
BA and DA (I'm sort of sad to say) don't really deserve their own codex since they don't really differ that much and where they do differ it can be replicated with 1 or 2 special characters.

This is also why we get insane stuff like the Chibihawk/flying raider, the Daemon Prince wannabe, Spellcasting Dreadnoughts, and Space Jesus. Without any of it the BAs would just be another Vanilla dex with Combat Tactics replaced with Furious Charge (even the furioso isnt that unique, as the normal marines get the Ironclad, which is more or less similar to it).

The thing is, Blood Angels *should* be a Codex Astartes Chapter with a curse. Instead, we get Loyalist Khornates with their own ridiculous set of gear.

"I went into a hobby-shop to play m'self a game,
The 'ouse Guru 'e up an' sez "The Guard is weak and lame!"
The Chaos gits around the shelves they laughed and snickered in my face,
I outs into the street again an' grabbed my figure-case."
Oh it's "Angels this" an' "Space-wolves that", and "Guardsmen, go away!";
But it's "Thank you for the ordnance" when the Guard begins to play,
O it's "LOOK AT ALL THE ORDNANCE!" when the Guard begins to play.."
