Some of you may have noticed our new boxes we're using for our boxed sets. Nice little hard plastic jobs that double as a miniature tote or a handy lunch box. Filled with egg-carton style foam, these new boxes are just fantastic. But don't take my word for it. Check out a picture here:

On a personal note, Bryan did a fantastic job on the new artwork for the boxed sets. You can check out all of the new box designs on our boxed sets page here.

It makes perfect sense. There's no reason to design a whole new case when pistol cases are exactly the right size and -as they are mass produced- are likely avaialble to reaper at a very low price.

I'm really tempted to buy the mouseling case set. 10 figures, and a case for 30 bucks!

I'd hope more for "Two men enter, and security forces gun down the one that tries to leave." But I don't think highly of tournament players.

A bit more about these boxes from a reaper rep. Condensed from a few posts on another site.

Just so you know…
It's not really a gun case people!
That's a joke about the fact that we [Reaper] are based in Texas.
It's simply a hard shell plastic case you can reuse for other things, like a lunch box, a gun case, or maybe even a case to protect your minis--maybe. Heck, throw it away if you want to!
The art is from the original art on the boxed sets that came in shrink wrapped paper boxes. They are stickers and you can remove them if you don't like the picture.

The case comes directly from a plastic manufacturer and is sold as one of their size options.
It may be used by some other company(s) as a pistol case, but it is not necessarily marketed that way by the manufacturer.
The lock loop you speak of we are putting a zip strip through to "seal" the box. I told Ed we should walrus the box but he said a seal would be good enough.
The 3 pieces of foam are custom cut by another company that makes foam products.
The stickers are a custom die cut label we had designed.
Inside "usable" space approximate dimensions:
10.5"W x 6.75"H x 3"D

"Is this a case that can hold two layers of figures?"

A qualified yes.
If the figures fit, you could. There is a layer of egg-crate in each half with a flat piece that may or may not be used depending on what we are packing in the case.
Now that we have them, we are beginning to think of other ways we could market them, including, optional foam inserts with pluck foam and things like that. Heck, even our paint bottles have enough room to stand up inside the case so we may do paint sets in them.
Time and interest will tell if "options" become available.
