Well just got back into gaming, with more of an emphasis on collecting, growing as modeler/painter and writing fluff, no real plans on playing. Here are a few things I was working on today, most of it is waiting on a FW order to complete. Oh and I apologize for the low quality pics, I will probably be posting and photographing with my phone for the time being.

I came here from your topic about brushes, and I wish I could give you some advice.

Unfortunately, I am just a beginner.

Good models. I like some more then others, but over all very original, or at the least well done!

@ Eftz3 - Yeah modeling, kitbashing in particular, has always been my strongest skill. I appreciate the commpliment and it is always good to have new people to the hobby!

@ whalemusic360 - Thanks! Which ones do you particularly like and particularly dislike? The only one I am not necessarily happy with is the librarian.

Looking cool. When are you going to start putting some paint down?

Here are a couple sneak peaks. They are almost completely base coated, then I will touch up, wash and highlight. The primer is kind of thick in a few places. I have to say this step is where I always get frustrated and discouraged with my painting skills and want to quit, but I am trying to stay positive and finish them. Let me know what you think of the schemes. Oh and my influence on these is Black Hawk Down.

Im not a fan of the Libby as well (mostly the pose, very static) or the helmet on the Homebrew chapter captain. I really like the Termi with the hammer and the scout jumping over the wall. The pics are a bit hard to tell on the paint, but it looks good from what I can tell.

Yeah I took several pics and those were the best, I am limited to my phone right now. :(

Upon sitting here and staring at these pics (at work), I think my biggest conflict with the scout might be too many base colors, I might be trying to put too much time and paint into rank and file guys.

Scout Colors:
Armor - Chaos Black
Webbing and Backpack - Orkhide Shade
Shirt - Bestial Brown
Pants - Graveyard Earth
Icons - Dheneb Stone (I think?)
Webbing Attachments and Accs - Adeptus Battlegrey

Should I drop the Adeptus Battlegrey in favor of more Chaos Black? I am thinking I should make the pants and shirt the same color, which color (the Elysian is Commando Khaki)? Should I keep the webbing green?

I was actually thinking the green. I'd go with flesh hands (instead of gloves), black belt and boots and maybe brown for the pack.

Looking through all the codices it looks likes all GW scouts have 3 main colors and 2 detail colors, I think I am going to give this combination a shot.

Armor - Chaos Black
Shirt/Pants - Graveyard Earth
Accesories - Medium Brown

Here is another scheme (still just base coating) for the scouts, does this seem to work better? Also I am reminding everyone I know they are terrible quality pics, but I am limited to using my phone to take pics and post right now.

Looks much more Raven Guard-y. Id paint em up like the BT in the "how to paint sm" book. I think more black might be getting into the too much category, especially on the PA marines. Stupid balance.

Still waiting on ole FW and trying to reenergize for painting (I ever mention I hate painting?), so I have been reading "Hunt for Voldorius" by Andy Hoare (only into the third chapter so do not spoil if you have read it!). Inspired by the book I decided to see what I could come up with, what do you think?

Quick update and sorry for the bad pic. Will try to have the command up this week.
