Okay, guys, here's the problem (boy, there's a lot of 40k stuff in here...)
I'm semi-new to modeling squarebases, which means that I've made some Empire, and I've REALLY made some Skaven clanrats. Now that my gaze has switched over to Empire, I have found that my units of Handgunners, Swordsmen, and possibly my Knights cannot rank without tipping over at an odd angle. Whoops.
I'm too used to 40k where your units have more room to scratch unmentionable places. Rather, squarebases are small, and you have to fit the model on JUST RIGHT or else you'll have the problem I have now, and suddenly a disciplined squad of Empire Handgunners looks like a group of drunkards arranged in a line.
So, my question and problem is this... My boys are glued on to their bases with plastic glue (not too concerned about the bases, they're dime a dozen, pretty much) but for simplicity's sake, I would rather not have to destroy the bases of my models in order to get them to re-rank. Is there a simple way I can get them to rank, or am I going to have to take a hobby knife and carefully take off a few arms?
I'm guessing there's not an easy way to answer this question, but maybe a fellow dakkaite out there can share his experiences with combating the insane amount of derp that comes from being a newb.
Thanks, guys!

Games Workshop - Just because a dog is in the doghouse doesn't mean you don't care for them anymore. But when they crap on the floor over and over again, you need to make it clear that their behaviour won't be tolerated.

perhaps try placing them in different orders, so they look better, or bases fit better? if you can do that, number or mark the bases somehow so that you know the exact order they need to be in.

Otherwise, yeah, youll need to remove them from the base, and remount them.

One of the key things in Fantasy, i have noticed especially with my Dark Elves, is that you need to really plan, and assembly line build units so that the fit correctly (its not so much a hassle with my Ogre Army )

If the models are unbalanced, you can try adding weight in the hollow space under the base. Or magnetize the bases to stick to their movement trays. If the problem is an odd arm sticking out, the only solution is to re-rank the unit until everything fits well. Then number the bases so you know what order works best.
