Subject: How to roll a re-roll.

I did try to search both the GW FAQ and the YMDC section before posting but couldn't find anything.
If you get a re-roll to something, such as an invulnerable save, to hit (due to twin linked), dangerous terrain (dozer blades) etc. Can you roll two dice and as long as neither is a failure count it as having passed or; do you have to roll the first roll, see what the result is, and re-roll if necessary?
I am fairly certain you cannot roll two dice at once for twin-linked, re-rollable saves etc but I couldn't find anything to back this up except that the wording in most cases says you "may re-roll a failed save". Which implies to me that you have first see that you failed one roll in order to roll a second dice. Anyone know if there is an official verdict on this?

technically you MUST pick up the dice and roll again.
However for a single shot, single twin linked weapon there is no functional, probability based difference between rolling one dice, picking it up and rolling it again, and rolling two dice at once. Absolutely NONE

I understand this. However I want it to be played as it should, because when rolling multiple twin linked shots or multiple re-rollable saves it makes a difference.

What Nos said. I don't understand why so many people make such a big deal out of this situation.

Overwatch - which is why I was *very* specific in what I said didnt make a difference.
It also doesnt make a difference with multishot, as long as you can differentiate the pairs. Trivial with different coloured dice.

I would have no problem with it if they used separate colored dice per twin linked shot or re-rollable save. I actually think that is the request I will make, thanks for pointing that out, it is what I do with mastercrafted TH with Vulkan so I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Thanks.

I agree multi colored dice are the way to go. But I still would rather we go with the RAW and roll one dice then re-roll that die if necessary.
