Thanks! I got them from Baccus, who I could not recommend more highly. I knew I wanted to play 6mm scale and Baccus's models, customer service, and prices have really impressed me! Seriously, if you're thinking about getting into the period (or any other historical period!) I highly recommend them, and with starter armies of ~400 figures going for less than a GW tank kit you really can't go wrong

As for rules... After looking over a few sets I'm actually working on my own. There are a lot of great rule sets out there but I couldn't find one that really captured the feel I want out of the game.

Very nice. The British uniforms show up very well.

Mine are based on 60mm squares for the Marechal de l'Empire rules from Baccus. They also work with the Grande Armee rules by Sam Mustafa. Both these sets are intended for very large battles, which is what I want to fight.

@-Killkrazy: Those are some nice looking Russians! This may seem like an odd question but how did your experience with commission painting work out? I'm almost tempted to look into it as once I finish school next year my time available to paint models is going to plummet :(

@-Comintern: Thanks for the compliment!

I finished most of the Baccus Starter Army last weekend, here's an example of what the guys look like when they're (almost) ready for the battlefield.

I was very pleased with the commission work.

I supplied the bases from Litko, as I wanted the 1.8mm plywood bases. I specified the troop mix, ideas for formations on the bases, and so on.

Reinforcements by Post bought the figures directly from Baccus, did everything, and sent me a big box of finished units individually packed into little cardboard boxes and padded with puffed rice. It was a hell of a job unpacking them, actually!

I think the whole army cost about £1,000. It contains about 100 bases of troops, plus generals and artillery. It is enough to field several complete corps for a major battle like Borodino. I had come into some money that year and made it a present to myself.

My eyesight is too poor to paint 6mm figures any more, so this was my best choice to get a nice 6mm army. I'm also pleased to send some money to a company based in Bangladesh.

I haven't decided which game system they're for yet... I'm actually in the process of writing my own rules for them at the moment, I liked a lot of the systems out there but I didn't find one that was exactly what I was looking for. So there's that...

Manufacturer for these inquisitor snacks is baccus, which I highly recommend.
