I am fairly new at this whole modeling thing, I got into the game by pretty much inheriting a Tau army from a friend. The problem is that the railguns on the broadsides keep falling off and I am having a lot of trouble getting them to stick. A friend of mine suggested drilling and then using some wire to get them to stick, but I am nervous that I will screw this up and really damage the model, because I am really clumsy. Are there any other tips or tricks for getting these guns to stick on there?

I've never assembled broadsides, personally. But (assuming they're metal) pinning them in place is really your best bet.

Pinning isn't that difficult, and there's no reason to be be afraid of it. Just start a small hole with a modeling knife to guide your drill and take it slow.

Bushido is right, pinning is a solid way to deal with heavy metal pieces. On top of pinning, I would recommend using some thicker form of super glue. I use yellow bottle "zap" glue for metal but the thickest super glue from your local game store should work fine.

Have you ever heard of Magnetisation? Alot of the pros do this instead of pinning. It also means you have options; Perhaps you want to field more crisis suits or something. You can buy magnets soo small that you could just glue them on without any drilling. You can easily get ahold of ones the size of a pinhead and they are Dead Strong.

hmm, I didn't think of magnets. My friend uses it on his Land Raiders so he can switch between different kinds, if I can pick some up that might just do the trick. Thank you very much.

You need some beefy magnets as those guns are heavy.

3mm or 5mm x1mm just won't work.
10mmx1mm might
5mmx5mm will.

I used aradite for mine.
The guns stay in place and have since I did it, some 5 years ago.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
