I've been thinking lately that I'd like to include some drop pods in my army and add some more dreads. Basically I'm looking to cause a lot of chaos on the battlefield and just destroy an opponents game plan. Doesn't have to be competitive. It's all about the amount of damage I can cause, not so much winning. Any suggestions?

Suggestions for what? Putting a Dreadnought with a Drop Pod in your army list isn't hard. I don't understand what you are asking. Are you asking which of the 3 Dreads you should take? Are you asking how the Dreads should be fitted? Are you asking how many you should take? To answer any of these questions you have to know what the rest of your army will be.
I'm thinking more or less basing the army around dreadnoughts in drop pods or attached to storm ravens & building the army around that. So I'd include some storm ravens, assault marines, death company dreads, furioso dreads etc. I'm probably going to try & deep strike the majority of the army.

1 2x assault cannon dreadnought in drop pod
1 dread with flame cannon/flamer in drop pod
2 with psyker (invonerabilaty shield) in drop pod
10 death company in a drop pod
2 death company dreadnoughts (the claws) in drop pod
5 assault marines jump pack combi melta and melta
5 assault marines jump pack combi melta and melta
5 assault marines jump pack combi melta and melta
librarian with jump pack and invonerabilty shield power
