Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

I'm thinking of doing a themed army but Im not quite sure which hero to base it round Gorbad ironclaw or Grimgor Ironhide. So which one do you think I should Base it round any other suggestions are welcomed.

Hmm. I think it depends on what you wanna do with your army really. I personally like grimgor more, always have. He's pretty darn tough and can dish it out great, and IIRC his point cost isn't too crazy either. Problem with Grimgor is he is stuck foot slogging all the time, which is great to keep him with the lads and central. But Gorbad has alot more tactical flexibility. You can keep him central or send him in a unit of boar riders and make him a great heavy hitting unit, able to crumble units on the flanks. Your boyz will probably do just fine with a couple of orc bosses in with them anyway, so you won't lose much by sending your general out to kill and maim. That being said, O+G have terrible leadership, so in that respect grimgor could be a better bet if you wanna have units testing on your generals leadership and quelling animosity checks and what not.

If I were you, I'd just take Gorbad. THe model is fething awesome, and tactically he can do much better for your force than Grimgor, and in O+G mobility is a huge help!

As I'm more of a 'line up and get 'em' style player, I'd go Grimgor. The mess he can make in CC is insane, and for a decent points value.

I do agree that Gorbad is more tactically flexible, but remember, these are Orcs were talking about lol. If you're building the army as more of a theme than a competitive list, the idea of Grimgor and his 'Immortulz' lined up front and center to bring the pain with all the other Boyz looking on and cheering seems appealing to me.

Can't go wrong either way really.

Grimgork is too awesome to not take him! I like Gorbad - hence my nick - but Grimgork with his Immortalz is just a power block. There are some evil chars out there who can pretty much let him look like a gobbo boss but well, that´s not an orky thought so forget it.
Gorbad has some really nice special rules but on the other hand you really need a lot of boar riders to fit him into a themed army. If you like a footsluggin army and can afford enough points for LoS blocking gobbo "scum" and some blocks of Orkz with those BO for Grimgork go for it. Else those bearrider block with Gorgad is a decent killblock as well. Hard decision - I went for both.

Now that grimgor grants +1 WS, plus with the free hatred and the choppa rule his unit is fearsome.

On the first turn you're dishing 5xS8 ASF WS8 re-rollable attacks with grimgor alone.

Then the immortulz dish either 2xre-rollable S5 or 1xre-rollS7 at WS5.

WS5 means the likes of WoC, Phoenix Guard, White Lions, hammerers and black guard no longer hit them on 3s, and you're hitting on 3s ag swordsmen, greatswords, temple guard, most elves and dwarves.

Now, gorbad means you can take unlimited big'uns so it's great for an elite-ish themed army.
