I've been slacking as of late getting these models done (I've had them for around two years now). So now I'm on a mission to start getting them done here in the next few months.

This is the first army I will have done in around 15 some odd years since i was a young teenager. But as soon as I had discovered these models, I completely fell back in love with the hobby.

So here goes, just some basics for you all.

I'll update as progress takes place!

Here's my container of uncleaned bits and some other models and directions from the packaging..

My DKK infantry, which is what's currently in progress...

DKK Mortars...

Death Riders...

and finally, my workspace with brew, awaiting the hockey game...

Are you doing these in standard Krieg colours? And is that the entirety of the force or do you plan to get more models?
I love the Krieg models, it's just a pity they're an FW army, makes it a bit expensive to do a large force.

"How do you feel when you have killed a man?"
"Quite jolly, what about you?"
Sir Richard Burton, when asked by a disapproving doctor.

I suppose the surprise can be spoiled, but still, nobody is paying for the surprise.

Like any responsible adult I have a Five Year Plan. It culminates in me becoming Batman.

And how does that NOT embody one of the most feared orkz of all time?

Current the DKK Roster is so far...

30 Infantry
10 Grenadiers
5 Riders
1 Mounted Commissar
1 Standing Commissar
3 Mortars with crews
1 Command Squad

I've got a tank commander for a future project, but I haven't decided where to place him as of yet.

I'm still in process for deciding the color schemes and definitely want to run some preliminary ideas through on some paper before i hunker down and start painting.

For the time being I'm going to just make notes of everything I do for the colors and gradually expand this army over time.

So here's the first wheel for the mortars, and this is the color I'm trying to decide on. It's a simple mix of three vallejo blues, equal parts. I'm going to work the wheel first before I go on to the mortars to see if it works well. Let me know how ya like the color and thanks!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And so here is said wheel after the paint job.

...with weathering. Depending on how the mortars themselves come along I might be tempted to do some more weathering to it in the way of some rusting.
