Hey all, just for fun I wanted to run a triple-Wraithlord list. I wonder what weapon loadouts would be most effective. Here is what I was thinking:

Wraithlord 1: Wraithsword + BL (Or EML) (Flamer + Shuriken catapult)

Wraithlord 2: EML + Starcannon (2 flamers)

Wraithlord 3: EML + Starcannon (2 flamers)

(Part of this is because of my wraithlords, one is modeled with a sword in his hand, and another with an EML, but everything else should be variable)

I figure the first one can have fun in CC vs big vehicles, and a BL will add some good ranged support against heavy armored vehics (Predators/Leman russes/LRs etc) though an EML there is good too.

The other two can put out a Str 8 AP3 and 2 Str 6 AP2 shots per turn, making them good marine-killing variants from afar and yet can still be a threat to transports as well. The other variant I was considering was a Scatter laser + shuriken Cannon, instead of one of the EML/SC guys, putting out 7 shots at Str 6 per turn, good for transports or higher toughness creatures.

All of this will be run with an Avatar, a farseer with doom/fortune/guide, plus some guardians with a spiritseer to ignore wraithsight. Also maybe some Striking Scorps to outflank to keep folks on their toes. Just for fun trying to keep from using vehicles .

Thoughts?

I've kinda always wanted to run three WL heehee.. I like your idea. Just a few tweaks if it were mine.

IMO flamers are always better. Template is a bit over 8" long and hits everything under it. Squad killer, especially with Doom. So I'd drop the catapult.

If there is one thing I've learned about Eldar is that the Starcannon is a bit spendy for what you get. Scatter Lasers are 2x as good at shooting transports (double shots), and cheaper. The Starcannon begins to fall off a bit more because of the abundance of cover. Scatter Lasers still seem to outperform them for their points against MEQs (if in cover, easy to find)

I love EML though, pop shots off at light-medium armor or try throwing some pinning blasts at other units. Think you've made a grand choice there.

Because of the WL BS 4 the Bright Lance is still a pretty good choice, makes for a pretty effective long range tank popper. This is what I'd go on two of them. Or maybe one SL & EML (anti-horde).
Also because of his BS 4 I wouldn't give him a lowly Suriken Cannon, waste of upgrade almost. Give him a better gun since he's better than most of your army at shooting anyway.

If I give a WL his sword I really only like to give him a SC, SL, or EML. For all the reasons above. So I think you're good here too.

Avatar sits right up with these WL no problem. However, if you have Eldrad I'd run him. If you're going two or more abilities on a farseer he's almost always a better choice. He gets all the farseer options (minus jetbike lol), can cast three abilities a turn (two of the same, fortune WL & Avatar), has a PW witchblade, and has divination. All for about 85 pts more than a Doom + Guide & SS Farseer. Bargain
As much flak as the Striking Scorpions seem to catch.. I like em. They do their job well. I'd personally infiltrate more often than not, as they don't fleet. They're one of your best Eldar units to muck around in difficult terrain and still be able to kill things.

Just my two cents. Best 'o luck!

There is only two ways to kit out Wraithlord for maximum effectiveness...

Wraithsord Only

or

EML and Brightlance

Never take anything other then Dual Flamers, at 12" range you might as well be flamering.
