Hi guys!
I ve been playing this game for 5 years. I have drop pod based space wolves and black templars mechanized armies.
I like space wolves a lot but they are not aggressive enough for me(they are counter attack style army).Black templars are good but outdated now.
And i decided to start a new Blood Angels army.I find them to be aggrresive enough to deal with almost anything. After reading their codex i really liked their death company marines and dreadnoughts(they are just as crazy as i want) The only problem with them is that they have that rage special rule, but it can be controlled by blood angels fast transports. Also I will have some problems with objectives. But what if i add some scouts or tactical marines into this force.

I need your opinion on this army.discussion

By the way look at my signature I am black and red. These are colors of deat company!!!

An army based around Death Company will always be an uphill battle IMHO, largely due to their costs and flaws.
However, they are not a 'bad' unit and they are very deadly to say the least. Hell, the Blood Angels Codex itself is powerful.

I say, if you want to, and if you think you're a good enough general, then go for it. It won't be easy for you; due to Death Company not scoring you'd likely have to rely on tabling or crippling your opponent, but that's not to say it can't be done, not least by the Death Company.

I think to be able to succeed with such an idea, you'd need to be a very competent general who (eventually at least) knows the army like the back of his hand. I'd say at the very least, it'll be fun.
If you think you're good enough, then by all means, go for it. It's not the most competitive of builds by any means, however it's the general that really decides competitiveness, not the list IMHO.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

Death coompany is complete nuttjobs. Yes they have rage, but se at what you get for 20 points. Compare that to things in the chaos codex. Then compare there costs. Then think what you can do with it. The dreadnought is also insane.

With that being sead you are looking for trading 3 or 4 of your troop slots for what are elites. So you do not have that mutch scoring units. Aslo you need to tailor your list around it. You can throw 5 DC and a dread into moast lists, but if you wanne do DC heavy you need to back them up! Dakka dreads for taking out kiting speeders and attack bices to take out transports so the death company can charge.

I think it would be more of a fun list rather than competitive because of the Rage rule. Yes, you can control them while in transport and that sounds all good, but once you release them, the enemy can easily lead you around the battlefield taking you out bit by bit.
And as mentioned already they are not scoring so you have to go for annihilation.

I think it would be fun to play and it would look really good on the table but maybe you should proxy the list a couple of times and take it from there if you like it.

If you run into a kill points game you have a good shot, but on an objective based game you have to table them to win

Make sure if you're planning to take them to a tourney that if you table your opponent in an objective based mission that you'll get full points. I was able to win a local tournament using a pure DC army for that reason... Otherwise it's not worth bringing them to a tournament. I don't think most players are expecting that kind of list and if you can get on top of your opponent early on it's easy to win. Stormravens with DC dreads onboard are made of pure win.

I use a fair amount of DC in my FT army, and they're REALLY powerful, but they are not the only "Troops" I bring, at least look at a Scout squad or some Assault Squads to hold objectives after they are cleared by the DC :-) And,yes the DC DN deploying from the Stormraven is insanely powerful...

I appreciate all your opinions. I need some more time to decide. If poll proves that death company are worth taking then i will make another topic about creating death company competitive list.
