Aight. I've been doing a lot of reading on this sight and just joined recently. In all the time I've been here, I've come across posts about Stormboyz and how they cannot deepstrike without Zagstruck attached to them. I disagree, but a lot of people seem to accept it as true. Am I missing something? Here's how I read the rules:

SWOOP ATTACK: Zagstruk and da Vulcha Boyz must enter the battle via deepstrike....

Ok, I understand that. If Zagstruk's there, they gotta deepstrike. But this doesn't say this is the only way they can.

Stormboyz Wargear- Rokkit Pack: ... Rokkit packs count as jump packs.

What does the BRB say about jump packs? Page 52 says:

All jump infantry units may enter the battle by 'deep strike' as explained on page 95 (And yes, page 101 of the Ork Codex, their entry states that Stormboyz ARE jump infantry)

What I gather is that with or without Zagstruk, Stormboyz can indeed deep strike. Having Zagstruk makes it to where they MUST deep strike. Am I going wrong with this?

No, you are indeed right - Stormboyz can Deepstrike. But that's only true since the 5th edition book came out, before that jump infantry had the permission to DS in their entry/codex if they had it at all. Sometimes on changing rules people miss it and remember how it used to be.

Ah, ok. Cool. I've not been playing long enough to experience rules from a previous edition being changed. Makes sense.

Getting the models to stand in a nice tight clump without falling over is another matter

Stormboyz deepstriking is effective, if you can roll for crud. If not that big unit will clip something and mishap

I love stormboyz
