Looking at My Commissar just gave me a great idea for a Firefly inspired army, Browncoats! I'm pretty much using Mal Reynolds usual attire as inspiration for the various parts on the commissar. Still need to do shading etc etc

I'm eventually going to do a DKoK army in this theme, but for now, here's the Commissar, sorry for the pic quality, having only a mobile phone camera sucks.

Love the reference, but it'll take more than painting the coat brown to make a strong visual link to the series. The breastplate, the hat, and the bolt pistol simply don't fit the "wild west in space" aesthetic. Are you planning weapon swaps, etc. or will this just be a color scheme/character name sort of homage?

The Dreadnote wrote:But the Emperor already has a shrine, in the form of your local Games Workshop. You honour him by sacrificing your money to the plastic effigies of his warriors. In time, your devotion will be rewarded with the gift of having even more effigies to worship.

The browncoats weren't that wild west-like though. They were all wearing camo and toting G36s Its only after the war that everything got all rustic on the frontier.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Like the rustic look, also the change from the standard Green and Light Tan IG. Good Job.
