Just a quick poll on what the most common 40K army you seem to run into on the battle field. Should be interesting to see the results. Although im guessing marines will be up there in number 1, I ask that you sate my curiosity anyway, and hopefully your own as well!

There's 3 BA players at my store, and 2 more at the other store I play at. I've never played against another IG, though I know there's at least 2 more that play at my FLGS.

Just why are Black Templars and Dark Angels an "offshoot" while Blood Angels and Space Wolves aren't?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I thought about that one, but I figured since BA and SW tend to be more popular than say Crimson fists, BT, DA etc, I thought I'd keep them under the more generic space marines. No offense meant.

But Crimson Fists don't have a codex...
BA and SW do...

York/London(for weekends) oh for the glory of the british rail industry

I play Relictors, alot of the time i use Dark Angels codex as the rules cross over quite well, eg hunting for fallen equates to hunting for a relic

Relictors: 1500pts

its safe to say that relictors are the greatest army a man , nay human can own.

True enough, but I didn't think it would really matter a whole lot. Plus I didn't wanna have a poll half a page long listing all the different SM chapters available to play or that have rules or codexs. Didn't mean to step on toes.

I think it's for accuracy rather thancodex fanboy-ism...
In future it's best to either put SM and mean all chapters and permutations or list each and every codex.

There are almost more blood angel players than any other army at my FLGS. I am one of two IG players, and the rest play C:SM, CSM, with one Ork and Tyranid player. I hate MEQ.

I'm yet to fight a Blood Angels army from this edition. I know they're very common elsewhere, but I personally haven't run into any. Had offers to paint for two of them though!

However, I have fought a lot of Marines and their variants. I play against two guys who run Space Wolves, one who plays Codex Marines, and I myself run Space Wolves and Codex Marines occasionally. It's pretty common knowledge that Marines are the most common opponents in this game, so maybe a poll without them as an option would yield more interesting results.

I find it funny how the BA and SM and it's Branches options leaves everything else in the dust.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
