Hey dakka!

I'll be attending a tourney soon which I just found out is going to be 1000 points... (I had originally hoped it was 1500 but alas) My usuall 1k list has been taking a hammering and I've got some shiney new deathwing termies I've been painting up..

So my question is ... will the list below stand a chance against all comers with competitive lists playing standard missions?

Any suggestions/help/thoughts are much appreciated !

Are those landspeeders Typhoons with multimeltas? Is that all you've brought to deal with landraiders?

Swap one of the TH/SS Termmies for chainfist and stormbolter as a back up plan for dealing with heavy armour. Its also great should you get stuick in combat against an Ironclad or Soulgrinder. AV13 Makes THs cry

Hrmmm wise advice.... I hope Im not unlucky enough to face a LR (its unlikely) but I totally hear what your saying about the CF's working vs grinders ironclads dreads etc etc so I'll swap out the SB on the dakka pred for one in each squad... (Magnetizing termies is awesome btw)

Watch out for people who like to spam Melta and Plasma Weaponry, other than that I think your army looks good.

Coz I guess it is there for anti-horde/popping transports, maybe vindicator or whirlwind?

You got it, unfortunatly the points required for a vindicator means its not an option.. A WW on the other hand 10 points less than the dakka pred.. but I'm not sold.. how do people get on with WW's? they dont seem particularly reliable or durable..

IMO i dislike whirlwinds, occationally they will do 1 good shot but i personally don't like them. I agree that pred aint gonna do much but i think, even though i don't like them wthe whirlwind is a good choice for hordes.

Why do people hate on the dakka pred? I've found them very usefull against non-MEQ armies... they are rarely viewed as a threat and are usually able to park somewhere and fire away for the whole game..
