Usually I play around 2k points, But my gaming store is doing escalation and they are only at 1000. Anybody who plays dark eldar knows you just can't chop your list in half like SM and be ok. And I didn't have the math skills to quickly factor in all the different costs of my beast masters. I'll try to get some pics up later tonight.

Sathion lounged in his diamond drug bath, tubes connecting the liquid directly to his nervous system calmed his frayed nerves. He'd knocked off another rival today and that always meant reprisals. the question always was when and in what shape would it come. His under-empire of prostitution, drugs and weapons had doubled in size and he'd need funds. That meant a real-space raid for the goods, and the goods were anything he could get his hands on. The High kabals paid dearly to go "down town" to find entertainment. Soon this ghetto and everyone in it would belong to him. He could see it now numb souled hookers and drug addled mad men storming the upper city and claiming it for him. The irony of it all made him chuckle in his drug haze. "Pimpin aint easy" he muttered to himself. "No it isn't" whispered an unheard voice from the shadows.


The mission was capture and control with table quarters, ugh. terrain was plentiful with a building set way back on either side.

My set up saw two of my warrior squads in my building with an objective, and another out on a small plateau with the archon way in front.

BT set up saw the five man squad in the building with an objective. All his vehicles lined up aggressively too the front.

"The human men, women, children, animals and weapons are rounded up Big Daddy. "Good, make sure this area is stripped, Graton. Do not fail me, or you'll be getting married tonight. Sathion said darkly. Graton's eyes widened in the tasteful emotion of pure terror.
"Move warriors of the foot clan he bellowed loudly, take everything, and if you damage any of it, I will hurt you...deeply!"
Sathion turned to the strange wytch cult he had allied with. The "Brides to be" were known for kidnapping males of every age, and species, and holding elaborate weddings. They were always widows by the morning. Which of course sent them on a grief induced rampage. He and Graton had spied on one such event. Everything they did hurt, and of all the things he had seen in the arenas and cesspits of the dark city, the mess they made was the only thing that haunted him to this day. "Take what you will, My personal succubus will accompany you." He ignored the crude remarks and hoots as he turned away.

Turn 1 saw my dice on fire shaking both rhinos and blowing up the wirlwind. I'd liked to have stopped one of those rhinos but oh well. The archon dropped the WWB and my plan to leap frog up the field was set in motion. The drug I rolled gave me a 1....

The BT for their part moved up and blasted some warriors with the land speeder, not enough to do any damage. A lascannon shot would zap a warrior holding the objective. I also found out the forward warrior unit didn't have cover just Difficult terrain. The rhinos zipped forwared and popped smoke.

Sathion was angry, even the huge amounts of calming drugs pumping in his system couldn't ease his fury. Half his forces had failed to arrive for the raid, his usual clone field had gone missing, his ghostplate ruined, and even his whip felt odd in his hands. He had gone to Mother for help (one simply can't cancel a raid) and she had gifted him a shadowfield, the price, he knew, would be high indeed. Worse yet Some kind of maddened Spase marines happened to be lounging around. He didn't smell the taint of chaos on them but they were insane non the less.

Turn two. Only the Razorwing flocks come in. Dark lances open up the Rhino with the Emp's Chump(explode), and Sathion himself stops the other with his blaster (Immobilized). The razorwings finish it off with rending.

BT shoot and swarm the flock and I roll poorly killing maybe 2 and losing the unit. Even after 10 years I can't seem to handle the Emp's champ Str 6 at I hits. Oh well I have them where I want them.

Sathion lowered his blaster and squinted. "Closer, closer, come on the Big Daddy" One impossible shot later the driver of the human tank was dead. A razorwing flock poured through the portal and ripped the tank, and what remained of the crew into bloody scrap. Only to be gunned down and chopped up by the beetle like marines that swamed out of the burning wreckage.

Turn 3 Saw my Blood brides and Chronos com through the wwp. Then are so crowded they'll have to split units. The archon moves to join the brides to be, and the good times get ready to roll. Only they don't. The warriors flub all of their dark lance shots on the speeder the wytches flub and Sathion has to down a BT with a point blank Blaster shot. The Chronos Targets the other BT unit, for fear scattering on the wytches. He gets the whole unit covered but scatter only gets one, and the wound is taken on the HQ. No pain tokens for me. Oh well. Both units charge in. Sathion and she shardnet wytches get all over the EC. With him down to one attack. I can take my time and munch the unit, or risk my shadowfield getting shorted out my some chubb's attacks. Sathion Flubbs all of his to hit rolls. The syren flubbs all her to hit rolls. The wyches manage to bring down 2 marines for the loss of two (passed 10 armor saves). The chronos fails with all of his to hit rolls, gets wounded once fails his ld 9 on a 11 and is run down. I'm in shock.

BT move in to assault Sathion and the Brides to be. The Speeder shoots and my forward warrior squad, kills 3. They fail a leadership check on a 11 and leg it. In combat Sathion flubbs all of his attacks again, so does the syren. the wytches kill 2 for the loss of 2. Due to good placement of my wytches The Emp's champ only gets one attack. He hits wounds, and Sathion fails his shadowfield getting hacked down on the first shadowfield save I ever roll. This is more than enough for the Brides, who gather up what's left of the Archon and the netted marines and leg it.

NO NO NO, This can't be happening! Sathion had watched his prize chronos collapse in a heap after taking just a few steps. His whip wouldn't activate, and he was forced to try to pot shot with his blaster. His succubus did what she could to net the black shelled mad man, but his gleaming sword cut through net and rope and it was all she could do to keep them both alive. The brides, having taken all the Marines they could carry retreated back into the Portal. Down the gleaming blade came, perfectly aimed. Arrogantly, Sathion stood tall, knowing full well no human weapon could harm him in his field. The blade passed through field armor and flesh, cleaving most of Sathion's left side to ruin, arm and leg flopped to the ground. He didn't feel the pain throguh the shock of losing the duel and his limbs. He just gaped at the offending appendages, lost his balance and coughed out a "PIMP DOWN!" as he tumbled into the arms of his succubus. "Big Daddy, no!" she sighed then took up the call "PIMP DOWN!" The warriors behind the fight heard the call broke cover and fled taking up the call themselves.

Turn 4. I take pot shots at the speeder, they all miss. The warriors regroup though.

The BT move forwared for the kill. The warriors that regroup are blasted down to the dark lance.

The succubus, pulled her Stricken lover to the portal, leaping gracefully over the fallen and dodging bolter fire with ease.
"Pimp down...pimp down.." Sathion muttered as his head weakly swayed to and fro.
"Not for long" she replied. She'd have to take him the the Ancient humonculi he called "Mother" and the price she knew would be high....

Turn 5
I'm going to make the bastards come through a hail of poison to take my objective. Al dark lances miss the land speeder again

The Land speeder still lives undamaged. BT get uncomfortably close

"Your too late!" Graton called, "Take this world, the people are ours." He laughed as the portal closed behind him. "All according to plan......


Mercifully the game ends.

I simply didn't have the time to repair my list. I feel I did the best I could so I'm proud.

The good. Game ened turn 5

The bad. Black templars are tougher than normal marines. I usually cut through them like butter. Ten years and I've never been able to kill a EC. I'm just cursed against them.

How did he have a whirlwind?

Turn 3 - your Chrono was forced to take a LD check or did it take fearless wounds?

I was under the impression that all MC's are fearless. Would not breaking have impacted your game?

good to see at least one person from the old group is playing! i'm anxiously awaiting pics of the dark eldar that will make your hive fleet zoinks! spooky nids quake in fear! back in town yet?

The whirl wind was a razorback, sorry I get confused with all the things Loyalist marines get. I'll be back at summer time.

Pimpin', indeed, ain't easy.

I usually run with 2. It works as a force multiplier I set up some assault unit or mandraks, the mandrakes simply go to ground if fired on. Then I toss a pie plate within range and boom pain token. It works well with the "Somnicide pattern" trueborn unit that I blatantly stole. blast them our pie plate and get a pain token, them poison them down. Don't under-estimate 2-3 AP3 Large blast templates. odds are you'll cover a whole tac unit and kill 2 unless you scatter badly. Then you give one of your units FnP. The thing does a number on eldar as well as hordes.

And yes it is fearless. that boo boo pretty much cost me the game.

Ah, great use of a cronos! June can't get here soon enough. Also, LOL at "somnicide pattern trueborn" - but they are AWESOME in that build, aren't they?
