can necron warrios have scarab swarms with them to asborbs any wounds? Ive been playing a necron player for quite some time now, and he always brings 3 bases of scarabs for each 12 man warrior sqaud, aka a pain in the ass. But looking on army builder, it doesnt give you the option of bringing a swarm with them.

I'm going to go ahead and give this guy the benefit of the doubt by not calling him a "bold-faced cheater".

There's no way this is legal. But, he's probably just confused. For some reason (don't ask me why) the box from GW that they sell Necron Warriors (enough for 12) in also contains Scarab Swarms (enough for 3).

This does NOT mean they are the same unit. They are NOT the same unit, they are separate units and purchased separately with no way to ever join.

No, there is no option of buying scarabs for a warrior squad or of joining scarabs to it.

So, either he's incorrectly combining them or he's misusing the wound allocation rules.

See if you can borrow a necron codex to read and give the current FAQ a good read as well - We'll Be Back is an excessively complicated rule.

It's not that complicated. No more so than FNP as there is more that negates FNP than WBB.

Also if he is using Flayed ones and has the first printing Codex; their Scarifying abilities got changed in a Stealth re-print, it no longer effects fearless units at all.

Edit: Corrected Post after kevin informed me otherwise.

Only the flayed ones ability got changed, the deceiver still affects fearless units in the second printing.

if anyone cares to explaing WBB that would be nice. He plays it like this- when a models is wounded, and he fails his save, he lays the model down, and at the beginning of his turn, he rolls a dice for each model he has laid down, going from squad to squad. I'm not sure on the number needed to bring it back tho( maybe a 3 or 4, not sure like I said). Does this sound right?

kevin: just saw your post in the other thread and came in here to correct my post.

SM209: yes, but their are certain things that negate WBB entirely; and are further effected by some Wargear on the lord.

he doesn't play Flayed ones, his list usually consists of
A Lord- WarScythe
three 12 man warrior squads ( each with 3 bases of scarabs which i will kindly bring up to him he cannot do)
5 destroyers
3 heavy detroyers
and a Monolith

His list makes one wonder where he got the Cost for the Scarabs to add to his Warrior squads to begin with.

WBB is infinitely more complicated than FnP.

his 9 Bases of Scarab Swarms are legal as a fast attack Choice; and He should have one available(of course he does not have the points for all of them).

I disagree. WBB and FNP are very similar in that they are both negated by the same things. But FNP is also negated by extra stuff. You run into the same complications with FNP as you do WBB (I.E. abilities that cause no wounds but may "remove as casualty" or "remove from play", where the wording makes a difference), and so on. I think people find it difficult because there are so many options to retain the ability to use WBB or to gain another chance to roll it. I could go on and on about it but I'll spare everyone.

To SpaceMarine209 - WBB is negated by Close Combat attacks that don't allow an armor save (Power Weapons (even if the unit has an invulnerable save, like wraiths or a lord with the phase shifter), monstrous creatures, force weapons, and so on), any weapon whose strength is double the toughness of the model getting hit (remember though that if it's not AP3 or better they still get their armor save, and cover saves apply too if allowed), anything that "removes from play". If it "removes as casualty" then they get WBB. Also note that a res orb negates all these stipulations except the "remove from play" rule. AP value has no affect on WBB.
All you have to remember is he has to have a similar model near the downed model to get WBB, nothing overwrites this. Also a failed Death or Glory attack doesn't allow WBB at all.
Also, it's a 4+ for them to stand back up.

True, but I thought I only needed to put the roll needed for WBB in there once!

Your very welcome! It helped me to learn WBB myself.
