All the talk about the new Battletech starter set got me to go searching down in the basement through my old minis from my aborted attempts at getting into the game (mainly consisting of buying the old Robotech "unseen" figs when i found them). The Robotech-based minis are pretty easy for me to identify (including my little blue plastic intro set below!).

What i have no idea about are the minis below. Anyone know what they are? I've just kept them in an old ziploc bag loose for many years so some of the weapons came loose but I tried to gether them up according to what they looked like they belonged next to.

Picture 2

Picture 3
I picked this one up at my old FLGS auction a while back and the sword appears to be plastic and glued onto the metal hand (there was another that snapped off on the other closed hand also).

Anyone have an idea what they are?

Wow. Yeah the first line are obvious. Second line look like components of Btech figs, really really old sculpts. The one in the middle is quite possibly a Quickdraw with its heavy forearms, rounded head, and what looks like could be a missile rack on the side of the torso. It is difficult to tell the photo is a bit fuzzy (as are the details on the figs I would guess).

The one on the right clearly has Warhammer arms, and a Warhammer style SRM launcher - but the rest of it doesn't look like a Warhammer very much. It is possible it is from the very very limited origional line, even before what are now considered the "old" ral partha sculpts. They were the first attempt which were so messy they didn't last long before being redone sometime in the late 80s. If it's made of lead, that would be my bes guess.

On the left, your guess is as good as mine. I know these must be old figs and I don't recognize the arm shaped double gun mounts from any old mech designs. The only thing I can think of with double barrels on each arm similar is the Rifleman, but it didn't have elbow joints, so that one is a mystery to me. Might be from a 2750 design but I don't recall many of those. The body looks like a clint, but the arms are all wrong, so I don't know.

On the bottom, those are all clearly based on the Archer body shape, but the variant weapon options on the arms are also stumping me. Might be from some other game that just used the same looking designs.

Whatever they were supposed to be, they could always work as homebrew mechs.

Cool find.

The blue ones are Battletech Minis, more specific some of the not pictured any more original 12.

Picture 1 are pre-Battletech when it was called Battledroids.

Picture 2 and 3 might be CAV minis.

thanks for all the help (both silverback and the others who posted). it appears you're right about the pic 1 in that i have a battledroid battleaxe, caestus, and vulcan. as for the other ones, they're a bit too round IMO for CAV minis (IIRC, then tended to look very CAD-designed with sharp angles) and i think i've had them longer than cav's been around. i'll go take a look at the bases to see if there are any casting details on them like the year and manufacturer.

the guys in pic 2 have the following on their base and definitely are too old to be CAV minis:
