No SAG or KFF on the Mek?

Also either go all walking or all trukking, mixing is never good.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

I figured that at that low of a point value game I wouldn't need all the bits and bobs, also, at 500 points, it's it better to go trukkin' or footsloggin'?

Foot slogging, Tactical Squads still get the free Missile Launcher.

Also if you have trukks you need the KFF to keep them alive, Trukks are probably the easiest vehicle model to kill in the game, except for when Kareen! goes awesome, had some fun with that, but generally Kareen! makes a unit that is now struggling to work because of the dead transport, into a unit unable to reach combat at all.

Any good units to take at 500? I've never played Orks on the table

Warboss.

AoBR is essentially a 500 point army waiting for more wargear.

A friend and I split the cost of it, he got marines, I got Orkz, we played three battles using just it, despite his blatant advantage, Orks are easily able to get the upper hand.

At 500pts, a unit of basic Nobz isn't too bad, at higher levels they need the complexity, but at lower levels they're bastard tough boyz.

Shootas are better and those Deffkoptas can hurt what little armour there is at 500pts, they also instant kill marines so YAHOO!

I would actually disagree about the footslogging vs. foot at the 500pt level. In my experience, the trukk army is very well off, simply because I usually manage to cram the big mek with kff, and almost 40 boyz into the army. With the cover of the KFF and the speed of the trukks, I normally can get into combat really quickly, and if I lose one trukk, theres still two more packed with boyz that will make it into combat the next turn

Just my 2 cents

My brothers plays Orkz, and we often have small scale games so we can feel good about all our minis being painted

He fields a mek with kff and a powerclaw, and two boyz squads with nobz with pc, sometimes he drops some boyz for a trukk, but he seems to have better luck when he just has more orkz on the board.

Big Mek KFF
Warboss with PK and Cybork, eavy armor as you will have points left over
2 squads of 20 boyz, nobz with PK and BP
495-500

Probably the best army in the game at 500pts, it might be worth dropping the warboss for 10 or less more boyz in each mob, giving up the extra high strength PK attacks for 10- more wounds on each of your units and more attacks. Also Shootas tend to perform better then Sluggas on foot.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I think it should do quite well with 4 walkers on the table and the custom KFF bubble to protect everything and it definitely shoots a lot of Dakka

You mean 3 Killa Kans or 3 Units of 3 Kans each? Would run you 405pts with grotzookas

1 unit of 3 kans with all 3 having grotzookas. Kans could do very well and make sure you have a mek with kff for those kans. you will to very well with that kan wall at 500 pts. Very well.

Mek KFF - 85

troops - lots of boys with a nob pk/bp

Heavy 3 kans each with grotzooka - 135

Yea at 500 that would be a hard one to tackle. Just make sure you stick the BigMek in that squad so he doesnt get singled out and your whole army will enjoy cover saves galore.

if you stik with the trukks i'd throw rams on them , i've had trukks saves alot with rams for the extra 2 front armor at relative cheap points cost of 5

but yea the mek= kff

3 kanz with grots

deff dread

30 boys

thats a pretty mean combo for a 500 point match

pg 93 ork codex under "reinforced arm"

ork drivers often miss the thrill of close combat and modify thier vehicles so that they can use them as a weapon themselves. a vehicle with a reinforced ram can tank shock and treats is armor as two higher than normalwhen resolving death or glory attacks ( to a maximum of 14) furthermore the vehicle may re-roll dangerous terrain"

so its asituational plus 2, but i do try to use my truck to ram and tank shock random groups pinning them while my boys close in to stop retreats
