So I got the Rites of Battle Death Watch Book today, and I fell upon the custom chapter generator and using nothing but random rolls I created this chapter. Now this chapter is made for Death Watch but I am transferring it to my new Space Marine army.

Name: Thunder Dragons

Founded: M.35 (prior to the Howling)

Reason for Founding: To hunt The Fallen (I rolled 'To Counter Chaos Space Marines' but I figured that the Fallen would be a better choice for a Dark Angels successor)

Founding Chapter: Dark Angels
-Purity of Geneseed: Pure
-Deficiency: Oolitic secretion leads to yellow tinted skin

Chapter Belief: Revere the Primarch

Status: Nominal (this is the fighting strength of the chapter)

Allies/Friends: The Space Marine Chapter : Saber Kulls (my friends custom chapter)

Enemies: The Fallen

Codex Demeanour: See, But Don't Be Seen (Stealth tactics before a battle)

Missing/Inactive Zygote: Sus-an Membrane (Inactive)

Chapter Flaw: Chapter Cult (they have their own chapter based religion)

Characteristic Modifiers: Warrior Scholars (+5 Int, +5 Per)

Chapter Hero: Claudius, Master of Sanctity renowned for leading an assault on an the Eldar Craftworld Ulthwe

HomeWorld: Averllorn a wasteland Hive world. The chapter relationship with the planet is a stewardship.

Chapter Organization:
-Divergent Chapter

Combat Doctrine:
-Ranged Combat

Specialty Restrictions: (meaning the type of unit they have a lack of)
-Assault Marines

Special Equipment:
-Rare Weaponry (In Death Watch this allows them to have access to rare weaponry such as Plasma Pistols)

Chapter Advancements:
-Death from Afar (when a character levels they can spend Xp in the Death from Afar advancement table)

Solo Mode:
-Highly skilled in Ballistics and Perception

Squad Mode - Attack Pattern:
-Siege Breaker

Squad Mode - Defensive Pattern:
-Knowledge is Power


So aside from the Chapters name (I feel Thunder Dragons doesn't fit the Dark Angel successor chapter vibe) I like how the chapter turned out, I love how detailed the Death Watch Generator was and how interesting the chapter came out on with all the random rolls!

I did have to pick somethings such as the skin-color of the marines and the name of the Master of Sanctity and their homeworld.

So I recommend anyone having trouble creating a home-brewed chapter to pick up the Rites of Battle expansion for Death Watch and give it a go! I also recommend the Death Watch Rpg.
