Whilst reading What's New Today on the GW site I spotted an interesting footnote on one of Jes Goodwins Concept Scetches. In the notes at the bottom of the Succubus drawing there is a sentence reading "Should take range of plastic arms from Wyches, Warriors and Scourges" obviously referring to the kit bashing potential of the new DE range. So unless something happened and GW decided to scrap the idea of doing Scourges, I think it's pretty much 100% guaranteed that brand new plastic kits for DE Scourges are on their way very soon! If like me you have been bowled over by the new DE range, then the news that plastic Shardcarbines and models to match some of the most interesting fluff for characters in recent codices is very welcome indeed!

Also on another note, whilst looking to see if anyone had already posted the above info I inevitably came across the standard "OMG why are GW doing more 'insert army here' models/codices when 'insert army here' have been waiting far longer/need new models/are broken threads and comments. I wanted to pass on a bit of information I was given by an unnamed person at GW Head Office in Nottingham which when you think about it actually makes a lot of sense. When deciding on when to release a new Codex/Army Book and/or models for a game system, GW don't just look and think 'Oh it's been 10 years since 'insert army here' had any love, let's do those guys. What actually happens is that GW pool ideas from different sources within the company on a range of armies/products and only when they have a substantial amount of good ideas for background/models/product, they will then look at developing said ideas which may of may not then result in a new book and/or models.

So although it may well be 10 years since certain armies had a new book, GW won't just make a substandard one for the sake of those players just to appease them. They'll only do it when they feel that they have sufficient good ideas to make a good new release. I don't know about the rest of you, but I know what I'd prefer they do.

Ahh didn't see that post, thought it was a bit strange that nobody else had picked up on it. Must have been sidetracked my second point.....
